Comment: Really fantastic article on Nokia N8, particularly your explanation about its features. Have you seen this other site on Nokia N8, its similar to yours. nokian8reviews.com
Good: It works, it really works!
Bad: Nokia PC Suite software has a long way to go to rival iTunes.
Comment: I'm very surprised about the comments and comparisons made here, both in the review and in the feedback section.
I've now had considerable experience of the N8, the iPhone and Android phones.
iPhone does everything apart from what I want a phone to do - make and receive reliable calls, allow me to listen to FM radio when I'm cycling / walking the dog / away from home, take decent videos and photos. N8 does all that very, very well.
The iPhone is much easier to use as a music/podcast player, but I've got an iPod Touch for that and I can trust that not to connect to expensive 3G data when I'm on the train. I also use Itunes Agent to transfer podcasts to my N8 when I'm on the tube and can't get FM.
Android phones are absolutely rubbish. It's like some kind of Emporer's New Clothes syndrome. I can't believe the hype surrounding them. Don't get me wrong, I love hacking and messing around with my phone, but I don't expect to have to do that before I get a decent version of a phone I've just spent a couple of hundred pounds on. I'm now in the situation where I bought a stupid Android 2.1 phone for my partner as a gift, who's so despondent about how rubbish it is I've got to hand over my N8, because I know it'll work.
Good: Price,Symbian 3,camera,speed,touch-screen,great hardware,HDMI out, Fast and responsive UI,USB OTG.
Bad: No user-replaceable battery
Comment: I am very happy with the N8.Hardware is really sturby and the little rough surface of aluminium casing makes holding the phone in your hand easy. The screen is also very clear and black is really black now. At first glance, S^3 looks almost like S60 5th (N97), but after a moment you start noticing all the little changes here and there. And not all of them are so little really. After downloading the new themes with new icons, from Software Update, the UI started to look really nice.
The camera is one of the best I have ever seen intergrated into a phone. I can honestly say that I don't need my digital camera anymore. But maybe even more impressive was the video quality; even video recording at dim conditions with very little light still looks really nice.Just check youtube for videos and I'm sure you'are impressed about the quality. Not to mention the pictures taken in dark with real Xenon-flash. Carl Zeiss optics also have wide lens, which means that you have more wider view in your photos without any walking backwards.
Good: camera, speed, feel and look etc etc
Bad: not much.
Comment: Very fluid, responsive and fast. Some reviewers out there are very biased towards iphone, symbian^3 is a great improvement on last OS, phone does every thing you ask of it very well, and takes pictures better than a lot of compacts out there. All in all its a great phone, crystal clear, great coverage, lets not forget it is a phone, also works great with bluetooth carkits. Cant recommend this phone enough, am massively impressed with it. Oh, and its music player is better than anything i ever had.
Good: camera,great hardware,features
Bad: 256Mb Ram,no-replaceable battery
Comment: I won't regret going to it while its price are a little bit lower than ip4,and desire, and it offers so much to me. After I've visited to N8 from gsmarena (daily highest interest,50k comments, still 8.5,8.4,8.4 ratings,5k+ likes really prove me. I went out to test at Nokia Centre and mobile retailer, they look really cool.
NokiaN8 on facebook this fan page has like 100k+ fans there for the source and its domain is still expanding,so it really appealing to me that I also love their ways of being straight. I am going to this N8 as my first handset of Nokia. Though I heard rumors of N9 with dual core processors and Meego.I can't wait to taste the beast of camera, cool 3D games & its improved OS. Wish me luck!!
Good: V.good solid phone
Bad: many haters including reviewrs but still rocks
Comment: It's still rocks more than HTC desire HD,Samsung Galaxy S LOL...then who cares,if it suit your taste, come on! This phone really rocks and I'd recommend it though they don't as they don't know. I can understand as it is a new OS and so easy but they said it ain't easy WTH!! And I really hate when you guys say it's a bad product when you don't like it. C'Mon grow up pls. Praise for its hardware, camera, new features and battery life.
Good: Symbian 3 ,camera, more new features
Comment: Symbian 3 didn't piss me off like the reviewer think,I got youtube from m.google.com, it has improved OS, more features like FM transmitter,usb-on-the-go etc, improved ovi store and ovi maps 3.06 with more countries and 3D view. This camera is the best out there which every reviewer can't deny.all in all, except browser,I am happy with its social apps,HDMI out, and its battery.
I didn't regret from buying it rather than Desire HD or galaxy S cos they are juz glossy :).
Good: Receiving calls
Bad: Too Much To Date
Comment: I never know when my 5 weeks old Nokia N 8 will seize!
Here in Australia, I thought I could trust the built in maps, how wrong I was. I just cannot understand why Nokia allowed outdated maps be used. Everything is updated as recommended and yet my phone seized at random. Replacement for another new unit is not possible here.
Only good about the phone is it's HD video camera. From now on I will listen to my friends and not Nokia sales stooges.
Good: Lot easy to operate, preaty quick
Comment: The battery is terible. If u not doing anythink its fine, but in the minute i want play some game, my battery will last no more than 3 hours. Preaty sad for nokia whitch suposed IN PAST have THE BEST BATTERY. NO MORE. N8 BATERY IS RUBISH.
Good: just the camera
Bad: battery life short, heavy handset, screen freezes often then needs to be re-set...switches itself off when it wants...
Comment: I have owned it for 2 months only. In this period it broke down twice. It has now been sent off to the manufacturers for repair. Vodafone won't replace it until it's sent off for repair 3 times and the 4th time they will replace it! Not happy with their service, not happy with the handset.
Unfortunately both Vodafone and Nokia are crossed out for me and I will be switiching to I phone and another service provider.
