Good: Camera screen speakers sound quality

Bad: Slow camera and speed, slightly bulky but manageable

Comment: It's a good phone and best in its range.
Well priced and only black mark is its slow speed.

Good: Nothing

Bad: Ability to communicate

Comment: I bought a N73 after being a user on Nokia for 6 years, considering that it is one of the top of the line products, I was expecting that basic functions will not face any problem.

It fails to work as a basic communication medium. It hangs while handling multiple functions. Also it hangs and reboots while sending sms to multiple people.

Also the camera is slugish and slow. Camera is never ready when you want to take a quick snap.

I frankly don't understand why Nokia launches phones in the market if they are not sure about the quality of the product.

Frankly I would not personally recommend this phone to anyone.

Good: Good pictures

Bad: Sloooow, buggy, very annoying flashing blue light

Comment: I really wanted to like this phone - unfortunately using this phone means hating this phone. I'll try to summarise my gripes:
1. Dead slow booting up
2. Long delay when opening contacts
3. Long delay when entering messages
4. Little blue light flashes every 4(!) seconds when the phone goes into sleep mode - not to warn you of a missed call, text or appointment - just to remind you that the phone is switched on
5. Calendar snooze function only has one option: 5 minutes. So there's no snoozing a birthday reminder for a day or a few hours.
6. Bluetooth connectivity is unreliable
7. The phone often "forgets" intermittent keystrokes when you're trying to quickly move between menus
8. Un-userfriendly calculator
9. Automatic keylock has been omitted - you can purchase(!) it as an optional add-on
Hands down the most annoying phone I've ever owned.

Good: Camera, screen, menus/appearance

Bad: Reliability

Comment: The N73 is, as most advanced technologies, marvellous on paper. The specs are good, and if you like the candy bar design it's quite stylish. The camera is superb (obviously better on newer phones, but still high-end), and as its a Nokia the menues are brilliant, as is the user experience. HOWEVER, and I can't stress this enough, the phone is the MOST UNRELIABLE I have ever had in my life. This is not simply an isolated experience either. I've had two N73s due to software problems, and in the nine months that I've had the phone it's spent nearly three off at Vodafone being repared. Since the last repair its been much better, suggesting that maybe Nokia have corrected the problem, but I wouldn't take the chance. The problem is that the processor is under-equipped for the features, causing dreadful sluggishness in all applications, a problem which manifests itself cumulatively. For example, after three months the message application had slowed to taking over ten minutes once I'd pressed send for the messge to go through, during which time the phone completely froze. In short, the N73 has alot of potential, but it is unrealiable and is let down completely by speed. Massive disappointment for a Nokai phone... but then at the rate their bringing them out now, I don't suppose you can expect much better. The product has been rushed into service and falls flat on its face.

Good: Good camera, nice screen

Bad: Crap phone, charger, battery life, keyboard and THE F******* blue light!

Comment: I am not exaggerating, this is the worst designed phone imaginable. Cnets rating is usually spot on but they have obviously not had to live with this phone.

The first thing one is confronted with is Nokias new charger - this means that all your old chargers are now useless, and now it has become, for now, more difficult to borrow someone elses - everyone seemed to have an old Nokia charger in some drawer. No longer, and millions of old chargers are now useless. This would be fine if the charger seemed to bring any great benefits. it doesnt- the smaller size prevents you from getting dirt out of the hole, and my N3 arrived malformed so the charger wouldnt fit. And do we need a slightly smaller charger on a phone that is much larger than many of the old Nokias?

The flashing light! You cant turn it off without ruining the battery life (it turns on when the phone is on auto low power mode and flashes) Surely enough people sleep with their phone on for this to matter.

I cant be bothered to write about its other problems as I doubt very much if a Nokia designer/engineer will read this, they dont seem to have much of a clue as to what little but important things are annoying their customers - far too busy eeking an extra megapixel to compete against Sony. If only they had stuck to making well designed phones.

Good: Large screen, various options, 3G, etc...

Bad: Turns off, callers not always shown & messages not always identified

Comment: In general a good phone, however some niggles that apparently can be resolved, well we shall see, damn frustrating at times but liveable.

Good: Camera, internet, music, video, expandability

Bad: Nothing

Comment: Ok so the N95 beats it now, but this is a great phone. The camera is excellent, and once you add a few things it really comes into its own:

Amazing accessories I have for it are: a Nokia bluetooth SU-8W qwerty keyboard for writing emails on the go, Quickoffice to write office documents, TomTom navigator with a bluetooth satnav receiver, a 3.5mm headphone adaptor with E4c Shure noise cancelling headphones for amazing audio while travelling, Opera mini web browser for cheap and high quality web surfing, 2GB miniSD cards to store music and (up to 8!) feature films, Rotateme software to use it in landscape mode, NTorch lite software to use the video light as a torch, Alon mp3 dictaphone software for high quality mp3 recordings, FM radio, alarm clock, a ZXSpectrum emulator for those old classic games...

..it's really great, best toy i ever had AND you can phone people up if you get bored.
