Good: Windows Phone 8, Nokia Apps, Design, Camera, Affordable, Screen
Bad: No front facing camera, Lacking apps on WP8
Comment: I just got my Nokia Lumia 520 and have made the step from ios to WP8 and I am very happy. The phone for its price is very good the screen is brilliant. The specs are pretty much similar to the iPhone 4s. The only downside is no front facing camera for taking some cheeky selfies haha. Otherwise really good phone I hope Nokia continue this Lumia range as all of them seem to be very well done. Please devs put some more apps on WP8 though. We finally got Instagram i think WP8 is a force to be reckoned with. Nokia is coming back people whether you like it or not.
Comment: My first 'smartphone', decided upon it following lots of research. I just need a phone that you can make calls from and pick up the odd email. For me it is perfect. Even the camera is sufficient for my needs...I can always use a real camera!
Good: Price, Navigation Apps
Bad: Very Delicate screen glass, no FM radio
Comment: Nice phone, decent performance. However, is very delicate. I opted Nokia because previous Nokia models were sturdy and robust. But this is not the case with Lumia 520. My phone fell down from my bed, the glass cracked and the touch screen became unresponsive. This happened within a week from buying.
Had to shell 55 euros for the repair since was not covered in warranty.
The lady at the store told me many people end up breaking the glass even while trying to remove the back cover.
So be e careful if this if you.
Good: Clear sound, Nice Windows Presentation. Viewing documents is clear
Bad: Rotton for music, can't download from PC easily. No light for camera.
Comment: I can't believe that this site rated this phone a 4 Star. It was on that recommendation that I chose it over the Acer Liquid. I should have gone with my gut feeling. The only reason I upgraded was because my old phone had a tiny 250mb internal memory. But after using the Nokia Lumia 520 for nearly a month, I've come to the conclusion that this is a fancy camera (without a very necessary flash) build round a phone , and they've forgotten about the music part. If you read all the "Help topics" it concentrates more on the photo side. Oh yeah, with photos, you can play to your heart's content, but the music side is more of an inconvenience to the designers. You can't easily download files from your PC across to it, and if there just happens to be lots of Word Documents (which I use a lot) you have to link the phone to your computer and put them into the special "Documents" folder. It's not user friendly at all, you have no idea if your apps are closed or not to save battery. My old phone could read everything on the SD card, not the Nokia 520. I'm going back to my old Samsung Galaxy Ace.
The only redeeming feature is it has a good Sat Nav.
Comment: WP8 is a fast clear os.
Call quality is excellent.
If you want a robust phone with a robust OS then nokia Lumia wp8 does that.
After having several frustrating android phones which drained battery In less than a day wo8 is a breath of fresh air simple and fast.
Comment: Dont buy from tradus site... even though price is less
Good: Speed, Cam
Comment: I really like every thing but Windows App store have limited applications .
Comment: to be honest, for the price, it represents good value, I am very pleased with mine after 2 weeks of ownership,
the only slight gripe I have is the battery, I find it runs down to appx 20% after a days medium use, so I need to take my charger with me, but not a major problem,
Good: Not a lot
Bad: Poor functionality
Comment: Having had mobiles since they were brick size "yes I am that old" this has got to be the worst Nokia I have owned. Having opted for this, against advice" I have wished I had stayed with my old Nokia Pay as you go. This 520 changes its volume at will, changes my alert option and as a result I have missed calls and seen text & emails late. Add to that yet another charger. I would advise anyone thinking about this phone to be very wary and consider their options carefully. I say this as someone who has had a lot of experience with mobiles.
