Good: Well spaced key pad combined with good sized screen
Bad: Nothing so far.
Comment: I wanted a retro type fone with a chunky key pad for easy texting. I didn't want or need lots of features. i like the bouncy feel of the touch screen and after 18 months i have had no problems. very glad i chose the Nokia 300.
Good: was good to begin with not now
Bad: my touchscreen packed in after 9 months
Comment: My girlfriend bought me one for my birthday 9 months ago and i enjoyed it to begin with but now the touchscreen has packed in!. I am very disappointed to say the least because I have always stood by nokia!. But now I am going to have to invest in a new phone!.
Good: compact & slim, 5mp camera, easy for texting.
Bad: not easy searching for features, not multi alarm.
Comment: - Arjay there is a USB lead for this (& several other phones with this D-type connector on the top), NOKIA CA-179 will connect this to your computer.
Yes this phone is ok for me as far as texting etc but I would have preferred a multi - alarm function on the clock (at least 5 alarm times). I understand there is a package out there that will do this but I'm a bit nervous about using anything that did not come with the system.
I'm having problems searching thru the features to find what I am looking for and get a bit annoyed when the touch screen keeps opening a feature/s that I do not want while I am searching.
I got this at the end of June and am still finding it quite new (not yet fully used to this system). I don't use many features, mainly text, phone calls & occasionally countdown timer for an odd alarm time (I still use my old Sony Ericsson phone for the multi alarm times that I use a lot).
On my old phone, as I type in numbers it would display all numbers that I have listed which would correspond to the numbers as entered but it does not do this on the Nokia (handy to check who you are ringing).
Good: It's good enough for me
Bad: downloading photos
Comment: How please PLEASE how do I download from this phone? I have tried 2 different usb cables (it did not come with one) and absolutely nothing but NOTHING happens when I plug it in. There are no instructions in the pathetic little booklet and nothing on the Nokia website.
I have tried turning the computer (an iMac) on and off and that does nothing either. I have wasted half a day on this.
Good: you get alot for your money but seems very flimsey and wont last long before the screen packs up / not as good as the older nokias / wish i hadnt bought one
Bad: as above
Comment: no more to add too cheap / £69 isn't cheap /
wont last long /
should be sold with screen protector and extra memory /
also as a very cheap charger /
think I will have my sony ericsson w20i repaird and try and sell this phone on e/bay
Good: Smart Simple
Bad: Memory, Plastic
Comment: Positives -
This phone is great and simple.
You can make it how you want it.
You can change the home screen and the main buttons.
Messaging is in conversation form - its great
You can have 4 numbers on your home screen
Easily get nokia suite and download music, apps from your computer.
Very light and sleek design, can fit anywhere.
Memory isn't great if your adding heaps of songs and apps.
I have 42 songs and 1 app and that's basically full.
The phone is basically plastic and the back is a piece of plastic.
It looks pretty cheap and it is cheap.
Overall a great simple phone with alot going for it.
It has perks but nothing to serious compared to other phones.
Good: Expandable memory, mp3 player,
Bad: Not enough extras included, case feels a bit flimsy
Comment: Had it for a few days now and I'm happy so far. Camera is acceptable, although I don't like how the touching the screen makes it vibrate when I take a photo - perhaps I can figure out to turn that off. Mp3 player is good. OS is user-friendly. Resistive screen working fine for me. Battery life seems really good. I just wish it came with better accessories or any accessories really! A micro SD card would be great, screen protector, micro USB adaptor, better quality hands free headphones (they're really naff). Overall a good basic phone though.
Good: Quick and easy for calls, texting
Bad: The touch screen!!
Comment: Bought as replacement for my elderly Nokia Supernova 7610 which was an excellent and very relaible basic phone. I chose the Asha 300 because I only wanted another simple phone but more up-to-date; a big mistake! Touch screen often freezes; at other time whizzes from top to bottom of page without stopping. Often does not recognise the difference between scrolling and selecting. This is becoming very frustrating.
Comment: can anybody tell me how to block a number on my asha 300
Good: Long battery life, very quick, classic interface, good camera, 3.5mm headphone socket, cheap
Bad: Wifi and a camera flash would be nice
Comment: I don't want or need a smartphone but do want a well made, useful phone.
I've always had Sony Ericsson phones before but now they only make smartphones I've got this Nokia and am extremely impressed. It's solidly made, high featured (for a non-smartphone) and looks good.
Unlike my smartphone wielding friends I can make phone calls and texts really easily, and only charge my phone a couple of times a week!
