Good: Er the qwert keypad, and many different uses for it.
Bad: the sensitive touch and the way it wont work!
Comment: Ok, I liked this phone when I saw my brother in law with it - my hubby has the Tocca lite, and I was all ready for having that one when I saw my brother in laws....I chose that.
Now, there are a lot of things similar to these phones...i.e. I love the way my hubby's has a separate tab at the top, to go to 'website areas' i.e. Facebook, My Space etc, whereas you have to go elsewhere into the Nokia for that, unless you organise things differently.
The touch screen appealed to me at first, I thought that was brilliant and different, though it is VERY easy to make the screen filthy EVEN with a screen protector on (Which you buy separately) and even then I could not get that on perfectly for bubbles appearing :(
Also, when you are on the phone and need to press your keypad for answers, you realise its not there, but there is NO explanation of where to click for it to appear...so I have been kicked off a call more than once ...:( same problem with the Tocca lite. Too)
The phone is what I would call a 2-3 in one phone, in other words there is not just one setting for it, but several, like for instance, there is 3 screens you can use, whichever you are happy with.
Since writing this, my phone has refused to do things I have asked of it…i.e. when I touch the screen to go to something it refuses….and the screen has frozen up to the point, where I have had to take the battery out…it also refuses to set up an email account, and when I put my password in, there is only 4 digits showing and keeps asking me the same question….any email accounts should be allowed, without you having to go to the web to find your email that way.
I took it back to the shop, and it happened in front of the man dealing with my complaint, which pleased me as the last time we went in, the manager actually told us, there was nothing they could do and contact the email provider, which I was disgusted with. This time the gentleman was most helpful and said although they were very popular, his girlfriend or her sister had had the same problem as me and they had to send her off to reset it all. The phone froze him on him too, which pleased me no end, and when I asked about the touch screen he said some phones were designed for you to touch real hard, so that they would not easily just go ‘off’ i.e., if you caught something, it would not automatically go to that subject – which personally I thought was a load of codswallop. He also could not set up the email account no matter how hard he tried. Said a lot.
He could not do anything with mine, so now mine has also been sent off….but you can guarantee that on its return, although it should be as good as new, it will be sold.
Not impressed at all.

Good: Music, net, movies, etc etc work really well :)))
Bad: Remote control thingy is a bit fiddly
bruban 6 September 2009
Good: faccebook, email, music, and the computer-phone interphase all work well
Bad: little fiddly to navigate around phone sometimes. not always intuitive
Comment: I got a great deal on this phone, so i ended up getting it. And now, i love it. Its not perfect, but there is a lot it can do.
The headphone jack socket is great, so i can attach my seinheiser headphones. And i can plug it into my hifi and mobile speakers without any difficulty.
I have 30GB of music on itunes, and getting this onto the nokia was fairly straight forward too. The standard memory card is 8GB, which is great. I think you can upgrade to 16GB..?
This is my first mobile with unlimited internet. Its been great. It hooks up to my wireless router at home with a little endeavour (it took me about 20mins to work out how to do this). And it is easy to hook up my gmail email account with the phone, and the google calendar etc.. Facebook was no problem, and is well displayed.
The phone can be used as mobile internet on my laptop for no extra cost. Though i haven't tried this yet, it appears fairly straight forward to use.
The touchscreen is good enough. The ipod looks flashier, and works a bit better, but for me, the cost and the other features make this phone perfect for me.
The most annoying thing about this mobile so far, is that i find it quite hard to navigate at times. Saying that, it is easy to switch between applications.
overall, i really like my new phone :)

Good: The range of features available for such a reasonable price
Bad: Camera quality could have been better
Comment: CNET UK's rating of 6.3 for this product is RIDICULOUS considering that the iphone has been rated at 9.3. Has it ever occured to you guys that a phone is not all hype and looks but that price also plays a very important role in deciding its competiveness? The 5800 has been an absolute delight, no doubt, even with some minor flaws, especially when i consider that the price paid has been half of that of an iphone.

Good: organiser
Bad: the screen doesn't shift from portrait to landscape on changing the way the phone is held very quickly
Comment: I have had the phone for 3 months and have used it to syncronise my diary (from laptop)(a word of warning don't use the supplied software instead download nokia pc suite and use it instead), surf the internet, used the GPS and the organiser on the phone. the phone is registered with T mobile. In the past I have used Sony Ericson, HTC smart phones and I am really pleased with the Nokia 5800, hope I am still smiling at the end of the year!

Good: looks and feels
Bad: not an iPhonel but then again, never meant to be one
Comment: Most websites (including Cnet) thought that the Tube Nokia is the iPhone killer and expected too much from the poor thing. Fact is, Nokia never meant to beat iPhone. Tube is not a high end phone but has a high end phone specs and package that even the iPhone can't compete. The only thing the iPhone has an advantage over the Tube is the UI, period.
So please reviewers, take it easy on the Tube since it's an XpressMusic, not a N series. Maybe you should expect more from the N97 for instance.

Good: Cost, form factor, propoer headphone socket, functionality (it has everything)
Bad: Prefer metal casing, does not charge through USB
Comment: Firstly the review is incorrect. It says £350, but Nokia itself is selling it for £250.
The review seeks to compare it to the iPhone. Fristly its much cheaper, secondly CNET should understand that not everyone (in fact most people) is looking for the exact balance of features that are in the iphone.
For example, I prefer stylus input. More precise and doesn't leav greasy fingerprints all over the device (I had the iphone for 3 months, got rid of it!).
Lovely designed, s60 for loads of free and pay applications, excellent screen, good webbrowsing, compact form, high resolution screen.
downsides, I like metal rather then plastic. But at least the weight is kept down.
I hope nokia produce a keyboarded version cheaper then the N97.
For the market its aimed at, it really has no peers at its price. In fact, this is a whole new class of device which will permently alter what is expected in the market.
