Good: Looks Good, Thin
Bad: Everything else
Comment: One of the worst phones I have ever used, didn't rate it a 1 because it worked some of the time. But it kept on crashing and freezing up. Also it wouldn't read my memory card properly abd the volume control button was soo lose it sounded like a rattle!

Good: Looks
Bad: The least reliable handset I've ever used
Comment: Bought for my daughter, we've been unable to get this mobile working for more than a few minutes without the handset locking up. Several return trips to Nokia to no avail. Checking online, numerous other customers have similar problems. No software or firmware updates from Nokia to date, even the CD supplied with the phone fails to recognise the 5310. Completely useless - I'm stunned at Nokia's quality control in releasing this expensive handset in such a shoddy state.

Good: small size, weight, decent feature set
Bad: apparently original firmware quite buggy
Comment: I'd love to get this phone, but the reviews on other sites scare me off (e.g. the one below).
This is just a software issue that Nokia could easily fix if folks like cnet called them on it. So please do cnet!

Oh my good god. I hate these things. Reason? I work for Carphone Warehouse we've returned almost every single one of these that was ever sold. We've had multiple batches and the phones all do the same thing. If the user has locked their keypad when using the phone and receives a message or a missed call and tries to retrieve it the phone will lock up! There was a stage we had 5 in one day same problem! Avoid in my opinion. I love Nokia's I was using the N95 and 8600 and they are superb, but my god don't buy this 5310! You have been warned.

Good: outstanding combination of features, the screen
Bad: bugs and battery life
Comment: The reviewer claims that the 5310 does not stand out. What other music phone has 3,5mm headphone jack, dedicated audio chip, microSD slot, USB mass storage interface, standard microUSB receptacle, all in one slick 70g package. And it doesn't stand out?? Then name one that is even close to this outstanding combination? Sony Ericsson has carried the Walkman moniker for who knows how many generations and still does not have a 3,5mm jack. And that's a *Walkman*?? For the price it simply can't be beat. This phone would have received a perfect 10 if it were not for the fact that it contains a few serious bugs, at least mine does.
