Bad: Battery life rubbish, very slow ,keeps freezing
Comment: This phone is not up to what it says on the adverts it breaks very easily not dust proof , keeps freezing , battery life is very bad switched of every think and it still dose not last all day so would not recommend
Good: my 1st Android , so easy to use , good battery life ,just love it
Bad: Nothing that I have found
Comment: Mine is on Orange and came with Android 2.22 installed back in August 2011 .I needed a tough phone and this is tough , and waterproof . I have had some good phones but this is the tops.
Bad: Its simply not fit for purpose
Comment: I have two of these (one for each of my daughters) both of them have had nothing but problems from day one. They were both replaced initially but now they have to be repaired each time. The main problem is that you simply cannot hear the other person - you have to use the loudspeaker. Both phones have failed three times and one has just failed again. T-Mobile take an age to repair and last time they came back with a note that nothing was wrong!
I would not recommend this phone to anyone - its utter rubbish and is not fit for purpose.
Comment: The Motorola Defy is NOT dust free!
I have had a Defy for about 6 months now and It is NOT dust free. I have to remove the back and clean the dust out once a week to keep it dust free. I do NOT believe claims that the Defy is water proof either and I'm not going to drop it down the toilet to find out either...
As you can see from others posts the Defy is NOT life proof as Motorola would like to have us believe.
On top of all that if you live in the UK you have to settle for Android 2.1 as Motorola has NOT released the update to Android 2.2.
I feel hoodwinked... Don’t believe the hype!!!
Good: Rugged and easy to use
Bad: The covers for the ports fall off
Comment: Bought it because the children seem good at destroying ordinary mobile phones. Have had no problems with scratches on the screen and it has been reliable and good to use.
Have upgraded to Android 2.2 so can now run flash which was very easy from Motorola's web site. Lots of warnings about backing up but all you need to do is download photo's first; really easy upgrade.
Bad: the "regular speaker" failed . Doesn't work properly.
Comment: I had a very bad experience with the motorola defy cellphone. The regular speaker failed (after 4 months of purchasing) and i was able to use it ONLY with the earphones or with the speaker phone. I sent it to the repair center through t-mobile and i am still waiting for my replacement device after almost 3 months. The Tmobile company keeps asking me to wait more time since Motorola Co. haven't get back to them.
I just don't trust anymore the Motorola Company. Basically, i won't recommend this type of device to anyone.
Good: Does what it says on the tin.
Bad: Nothing, capable of taking a knock, well put together piece of kit.
Comment: Left this phone outside on the garden table over night, could not find it in the morning rang, it up and heard it ringing outside only problem it had been raining heavy all night, took it in wiped it down and still worked a treat, dropped it a few time still going strong. For the price you really will not go wrong with this phone
Good: Has a fairly sturdy feel to it.
Bad: Basically doesn't work properly.
Comment: Despite reading many promising reviews, I have to say I find this phone hopeless. Firstly, any attempt at using the phone for at least five minutes after switching it on results in the phone re-booting. Secondly, and most irritating of all, the phone reboots every time I receive a text, so if I'm on a call I lose the connection and have to wait at least 30 second before be able to reconnect. Neither T-Mobile or Motorola recognise that there is a problem and blame each other.
Don't waste your money, two tins and a piece of string would be more efficient!
Comment: fgs don't get a waterproof phone if you don't want ugly port covers i can tell how desperate you are to find a bad point
Good: Excellence water proof.
Comment: I love outdoor activities and Smart phone, finally I got my dream phone. My Defy still working fine after 30 minutes submerge in water when my sail boat capsizing.
