Good: ABSOLUTLEY EVERYTHING IS PERFECT
Comment: The touch screen is so responsive and everything has been designed so that it can be personalized with HTC Sense UI which is just superb with windows mobile and with the 1GHZ Snapdragon processor there is no drag or slow down when opening or running programs. It is just perfect in every way.
Good: windows touch icons
Bad: lack of user ability in settings in connecting to the internet and auto disconnect
Comment: Do not get me wrong it is a good phone if some what you get lost on how it works, the touch screen can be abit to touchy and mearly hoovering your finger in mid air can trigger a response.it loves the internet so much that you cannot disconnect from it and I had my operator telling me to cut down on my usage after 5 days of using it even though I have unlimited access. The settings can be more friendly towards the user as in more settings and the keyboard could be better for those with bigger fingers.Much better than my old nokia n82 but not so much better as a lack of user settings like when you come out of the browser and say into settings or music you are still connected to the internet, instead of auto disconnecting from it like a nokia say.
Good: Processor speed, screen sensation, HTC sense with Windows mobile
Bad: Headphone sound
Good: Design is stiunning, spec is stunning, heck even some of the features are stunning...............
Bad: unreliable & buggy software, touchscreen not a heavy texters friend, slow SD readin capabilities, music playback has winmo exe issues (many crashes)..............
Comment: It is disappointing to say that after using this device for about 1 week, my top mark can only go as high as a 5! Many of the features on this interface are excellent but they are dependant on what you are personally looking for from a phone. My preferences for functionality are:
1 - Makes & receives calls, text & email = Check
2 - Music player is good/excellent = Occassionally not stable enough, MISS
3 - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HSDPA connection with Push Mail/good mail client = This is a BIG CHECK, connectivity is exceellent. Although the NETWORK signal receipt strength is VERY POOR! This is to do withthe antennae being located on lower backside of handset - WHERE YOU HOLD THE PHONE! DOH! (My network provider kindly gave me a courtesy Femtocell router to boost signal........AWESOME!)
The Text input is QUITE POSSIBLY THE MOST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE YOU WILL EVER AND I DO GENUINELY MEAN EVER HAVE THE MISFORTUNE TO EXPERIENCE,..........UNLESS YOU HAVE DAINTY LADY HANDS! I have found it almost impossible to text unless giving the input 150% concentration and even then the feedback randomly adds or changes input letters! ANNOYING AS H3LL!!! THIS IS A MAJOR MAJOR ISSUE BUT MORE SO FOR EMAIL!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BLACKBERRY REPLACEMENT AVOID THIS DEVICE..........PURELY ON CHARACTER INPUT BASIS!!!!
HTC Sense skin ultimately attracted me to an OS which otherwsie I wouldnt touch with a brush (WinMo6.x) After a very negative experience with a Omnia! However for the vast majority of users of this device the Sense skin will allow you to NEVER see WinMo6.5 = major PLUS.
I just so wanted to lick this handset. If my network had not restrict ROM updates direct from HTC I would have even maybe rode out the storm and relied that ROM updates would fix the majority of issues.
As my network are renouned at being slow with ROM releases and applying a non-official Rom voids the warranty,..............affraid to say my HTC HD2 is going back to the supplier!
A reluctantly returning iPhone customer signing out!
Good: It is trendy, stylish, looks good on paper.
Bad: The phone has major problems wrt to the hardware and the customer service is bad as the product
Comment: I puchased the HD2 on my visit to London and was one of the first users to start exploring it on the 11th of November(th day this phone was released). Within hours of me starting to use it, major faults started appearing. The screen just wuldnt get aligned. I called HTC and got this handset replaced within a week. And then had to travel back to India for work. Now this second handset has been a pain in my a**e ever since i got it. Just to list down the complaints:
1) The volume keys on the side panel have ceased to work.
2) The battery jus keeps on charging even when the phone displays 100% charge.
3) The phone hangs everytime you ignore a incoming call, and the only way to come out of it is to remove the battery in order to restart the phone.
4) The FM radio does not stream flawlessly, infact it does so in packets, which are discrete and annoying.
Now i have been in touch with both the UK service center and the ones in India. And none have bothered to take it up seriously. I might just have to dump this handset and go back to my old iphone 3G.
This is "beauty with no brains", dont go by just the specs cause they mean little with a WiMo 6.5.
Good: Huge touch screen, facebook, twitter and youtube synchronisation, good quality camera, good for entertainment and loads of other things.
Bad: Camera flash is too bright, original task manager isn't easily accessable
Comment: The HD2 is an excellent phone. It's got a great camera, plays mp3's in a well set out audio player and can play mp4 and wmv video files as well. It has a slick interface and runs smoothly on the 1GHz processor. There are many useful applications included as well.
Good: The windows 6.5 pro
Good: Giant screen with almost no empty space on the sides
Bad: No WinMo 7 yet
Good: Bst WM experince ever
Bad: Opera should have flash player
Comment: This the only phone you can use internet properly and read documents conveniently. Only thing is PDF needs update so that it rotates and fills whole screen.
other reviews are biased and I doubt if they have used the phone at all. I agree the HTC HD is not that good as it appeared initialy but u can upgrade rom.
I had occassional problems in last one month but no restart reqauired so far.
Any device with software can suffer with occassional problems.
You cant compare windows with iphone. It has resolution 3 times iphone and does multi tasking so there is much more strain on the processor. Also more or less any kind of normal file you thow on winmo with adequate sofware and it will run directly can u do that with other phones?
Good: Design and social network intergration
Bad: Text messaging does not work, overal buggyness!
Comment: Having just switched from an iPhone I was expecting a large shift. My HTC is currently unable to send or (for now) receive texts! The whole software is littered with bugs (a huge one being the "pink splodge" when using the camera). If you are considering buying this phone wait a month or at least make sure you have a second phone that works. Apart from that its great.....
