Good: Great design, and great battery, the size.
Bad: No front camera, way to little storage space, lack apps.
Comment: Great phone so far. The main reason i bought it was the great design, and that it was so cheap. The battery is great, it lasts me a full day of use. The app support is okay, but there are still missing many, for example bad piggies, tiny wings, bike race, and many others, but they may come in the future. Overall if you dont think you need apps or games, and you like a stylish phone, and you want to try something new i reccomend htc 8s, but i kind of regret i did not get the Nokia lumia 620, it has a front facing camera and double the storage

Good: quirky, looks good and feels gr8 in hand.
Bad: low frequency of apps, to be expected as it windows operating system
Comment: Just bought this phone sim free yesterday. Was in dire need of a new phone after staying with my Sony x10 for some time. This HTC appealed to me in the shop. It jumped out and said 'have a look at me'.
I started to get adjusted to my new HTC today, and actually quite like it, not entirely sure for how long though. The price was reasonable of £159. So, no complaints there. All in all a good investment for now.

Good: Fast
Bad: Support
Comment: This phone is having some serious issues. I got replacement 3 times, and problem wasn’t resolve. With poor HTC support I was forced to change this phone for Nokia Lumia 610. To see details visit http://myhtcproblems.com .

Good: Good Size, great battery life, slick looks, excellent keyboard
Bad: Underpowered, 4GB storage not enough.
Comment: The handset feels and looks great. Battery life will see three days on standby and 24 hours heavy use. Calls are crisp, loud and clear. The touch keyboard is the best I have used. The calender app is great(The most important feature of a smart phone for me) and syncs with Outlook on my PC perfectly.
I chose the 8S over the 8X because of the size and the better battery life but there are a few things that make me crave the higher end model. The screen resolution isn't superb, it would be fine except I have a retina display ipod touch that draws a stark comparison. Also the lack of internal storage space is a worry. Although you can store media on the sd card you cant install apps. It's okay for the moment but I fear that an OS update will render it obsolete.
Windows phone 8 OS is great at being a phone and organiser but pretty awful for media and games stuff. The app store has gotton much better in the last month or so, most of the big names are on board now and there are some great alternatives for the names that are missing such as instagram and youtube. Overall I think that WP8 is really good , it just needs some fine tuning.
With hindsight I think I should have gone for the 8X but if you are on a budget then the 8S is a good choice. Nokia's new 720 might be better though so I would check that out first.
