Good: The best BlackBerry ever!

Bad: lack of apps....

Comment: tomexh - do you clear down all your open apps? The BlackBerry will freeze if you overdrive it's processors. My guess is that you have too many open. Try closing all but the essential ones down - mail, phone, browser and now see.....

......."the small yellow message notifier on the home screen wont go away."..somewhere you have an unread message or text that has been filed unread?

......or it could be a voice mail message? I had the voice mail message indicator (envelope) stuck on my phone when i had no new voice mails. I did go into the messages then "view folder" and delete all missed calls and text messages.

However, this did not fix the problem. Then I called my phone and left a voice mail using my home phone. I listened to my voice mail then pressed the key to delete it. As soon as i did that the message indicator finally went away!

After reading other forums they say if you close your voice mail too quickly and don't disconnect you can get stuck with a message indicator. Make sure you hear the woman say "goodbye."

I think I'll be more careful next time!

Good: Lovely phone phone to look at and thats all

Bad: Software problems and no fixes

Comment: Buttons are small and the biggest problem of all the software keeps freezing and the small yellow message notifier on the home screen wont go away even when you clear your messages. really irritating when you big up your phone and see message box only to find no message. Don't be persuaded to have one until Blackberry announce a fix for it. thinking about starting a causes page to notify everyone to push Blackberry

Good: great concept, good features, very good apps, much improved OS.

Bad: qwerty keys smaller than other BB's, could've put a higher resolution camera and screen.

Comment: i really want one, as soon as my south african service provider allows, withthe bb torch 2 coming soon, maybe the price will come down?

Good: i have upgraded from BB 9300 to Torch 9800 and feels good with new look and functions.

Bad: Yes realised that touchscreen is not as sensative as my daughters iPod.

Comment: can anybody tell me how to use Skype on Torch 9800. RIM has not yet come up with Skype version applicable outside US...

Good: I like Blackberry. the Torch is the natural evolution of a good smartphone

Comment: I use an ipod touch and i almost got an iphone4. This is my third blackberry and i think it is a very stylish, well designed phone. I ve read some reviews about it and many critics were going on about lack of hd video recording, hd screens...who cares, it is the best smartphone with the style . it does the best job like all the other blackberries i owned.
well done blackberry...
just great ....

Good: It feels classy and well built

Bad: Prettyy much everything else

Comment: This phone is a long way from being a patch on just about any other smartphone going. The hard keyboard is ok, the on screen keyboard is atrocious. The software never seems to keep up with the sensor touch device getting about , sometimes jamming and requiring you to touch the screen to budge it along. It is confusingly prone to change randomly just by touching the wrong button a couple of times, the menu for slecting ring tones, contacts and personal definitions is a total nightmare.

The web app is a major improvement on older versions, but I have top say totally useless in comparison to androids or iphones. Its painfully primitive compared to all others.

If this is the best RIM can do, then yhey are at the thin edge of a wedge being driven into the blackberry brand, because it just cannot even compare to iPhones or Samsung Galaxy's, or HTC.

The operating system is moronic, painful, dated, and even with the vaunted BlackBerry messenger (which lets face it is just another instant messenger service of which there are many), the only place this phone has is for people who either are compelled, for rapidly dating business reasons, or don't know any better.

I try to think of good things to say. I just cant. Its driven me insane and I am going to sell it. its like using windows before windows 95 - why on earth would you want to?
