Good: iPhone innit
Comment: Siri looks very cool
Good: Popular, lots of apps, easy to use.
Bad: Small screen, culture.
Comment: I hope iCloud means it no longer needs to be plugged into iTunes (if that's not the case then iTunes should be in this list too).
There are two deal-breakers for me.
1. That 3.5" screen was adequate (even large) in 2007 but in late 2011 its small and rules the phone out as a class-leading product.
2. The Apple culture isn't for me. I don't understand how people can be so emotionally invested in their phone (MP3 player, laptop, whatever). I don't want to be associated with that, its creepy.
Comment: Siri, in my opinion will be a pain in the 455.
Good: Fast, Siri - voice control, 100,000 of the finest apps - very user-friendly!
Bad: Price could be lower...
Comment: I've had loads of smartphones over the years:
- Palm OS
- HTC Wildfire - concurrently owned while I had my iPhone 4
When I laid my hands on the first iPhone there was a fanfare of horns as I finally GOT IT!
I never though I would buy my software digitally but it Apple gave me a service I could trust and was dependable and free of malicious software.
YES they locked down what coud be put out there
YES they only added features when battery life and performance was usable
A lot of people have criticised Apple but I think in general they have done what's best for the end-user and in turn their App suite is second to none.
Why will they continue to be the dominating force in mobile software for at least the next 10 years?
When Android came out I was interested - but when I saw the first batch of handsets I got worried for them. Every handset was different. Some had physical keyboards, some didn't. Some had buttons and other didn't. With each iteration of handset the Android market gets increasingly get fractured. I saw the same thing happen with regular mobile handsets and it became unviable for developers to produce software for 200 different types of handset, screen configurations!
Apple's approach does mean that they only offer a limited number of handsets but that's a compromise I'm happy to make if all software I buy works as it should!
Well done Apple and my IPhone 4S is the pinnacle of all they have learned about mobile in their short yet fruitful time in the arena.
Who would have thought Apple would have destroyed Nokia's market share those few years ago when the first iPhone was announced? And where are Nokia? With all their billion dollar R&D facilities they have come up with precisely JACK!
Android will have longevity as Google have money to burn but how big are those ego's at Samsung/HTC/Motorola and how quickly wil they realise that unified hardware is the way forward?
Don't hold your breath!
Good: I phone is d legend
Comment: Siri future is awesome.......................................
Comment: Apple, a revolutionary company that's changed the world time and tIme again
And now again !
Comment: One thing I would like to know. They say that it has got two antennas but even then the signal in pictures for 3 network doesn't show up.
