Good: It's a smart cover - it covers and it's smart
Bad: Nothing unless you think it is a transformer and should be able to turn into a case!
Comment: The idea of this is it's a screen cover for your iPad: it doesn't cover the sides or the back of your iPad because it's a screen cover, NOT a case. It means that your iPad still looks like an iPad but with a rather nifty cover for the screen, that also rolls back to become a stand or even a grip as well as being able to wake/sleep your iPad when you open or close it.
The nice thing about it is that it doesn't add too much bulk to your lovely slim iPad, unlike some cases which can be both bulky and weighty.
You should be aware that as it attaches by magnets (and not superglue) it will stay in place with normal use but detaches easily when you want to remove it - and also sometimes when you don't want to remove it; this means that if you give it a good knock it may come off, so don't rely on it for anymore than adequate screen protection in normal use.
Don't buy one of these if you want all round protection and total (or at least as total as it gets) peace of mind, for that scenario you should get a case - otherwise you'll be posting on here bemoaning the fact that your screen cover doesn't seem to cover anymore than the screen.

Good: not much
Bad: the price suggests ipad immortality
Comment: the concept is sleek, i like the way you can open it and wake it like a book, and how the magnets hold it to the ipad however while using my ipad as a sign board at the airport (yup theres an app for that), while loading luggage into my car sure enough my ipad decided to fly too, landing face down, phew on the cover but oh "!%^&* (expletive) the cover flew off grinding and totalling the screen looking like a carcrash windshield, its now in the ipad hospital waiting for a new £110 screen.
I'd rather had paid real money for a true 3rd party cover than apple's paltry offering BE WARNED

Good: Design, quality of manufacture
Bad: Potentially difficult to keep the micro fibre side clean over time
Comment: This is a good product, if its function suits your needs. However, if you want a case, rather than a cover, this is not for you. Some seem to be reviewing this product as a case, where in fact the clue is in the name: smart C O V E R. Maybe the experience of choosing, purchasing, owning and using a smart cover should also logically result in reviews based on the idea of a cover, rather than a case? 'I bought a cover, but it doesn't do the job of a case, so I'm going to moan about it'. Super.
As a cover, to protect the screen, and a stand (albeit landscape only) it does a great job. To protect all surfaces of the iPad, you don't need me to tell you that a case will be pretty handy for that..

Good: Turns iPad on and off (don't think I've actuallyvused the button), great stand, cleans screen, easy to remove
Bad: Doesnt protect the back
Comment: Works like a charm, couldn't imagine my iPad without it. I'm currently on the lookout for a rear cover with a hole down the side so as the magnets can still attach, though apparently no such thing exists. I'd have thought that was quite obvious.

Good: Innovative, acts as a screen cleaner, adds a USP, satisfying noice
Bad: Price, prone to pick up dirt, doesn't protect the back or sides, colours are questionable
Comment: Have to agree with Flora on this one. It's a great piece of design and I'm glad to have it, but it is on the pricey side, is rubbish for portrait mode and seems to love picking up dirt.
Maybe I'm just bitter that John Lewis weren't stocking the red leather one.

Good: It looks good
Bad: It does not protect the iPad and it is not functional as a stand
Comment: The ipad2 cover is a piece of junk. It overs little protection to the ipad2 (my device was $900) and is unstable as a stand/holder. Do not buy it. Look for an after market cover.
The cover for the iPad1 was great in many ways. Why change it? I don't know. I guess it didn't look good.

Good: keeps the thinness
Bad: price...i mean really =S
Comment: I like it and i will be getting one when i buy an ipad 2.....for the back if you are terrified about scratching it i will get one of those vinyl skins, protects it and also looks pretty neat with all the different designs

Good: Lightweight, Thin, Good Idea
Bad: No protection of sides or rear
Comment: Will be purchasing one once a new case has been produced to cover the back but expose the magnetic hinges.

Good: It acts as a stand and puts the iPad to sleep when closed to save battery.
Bad: Doesn't protect the iPad at all, unpractical, gimmicky, horribly overpriced.
Comment: Not a very good case, since it doesn't actually protect. There are far better alternatives out there for people who want the magnet thing.
