Good: Light weight
Bad: Ethernet card
Comment: I've been using this laptop for 4 months with Windows 8. I loved it for the light weight, quick boot-up, etc. Then, it started crushing wifi constantly. Of course I tried to reinstall driver and even reinstalled the whole system by system recovery. Sometimes even wired internet connection crushes with the whole ethernet card. I suspect there is something incompatible between the hardware and Windows 8.

Comment: If you are looking for light, cold (cool) notebook with great sound and backlight keyboard, look no further.

Comment: A question: what kind of battery test do you people use?? Because in all the other reviews I found (some listed below) Z830 scored the same or slightly better than UX31 on battery life. Wasn't it at least a bit strange to you?
- Z830 4:06h, UX31 3:07h (http://www.cnet.com.au/asus-zenbook-ux31-339325827.htm)
- Z830 9:23h/1:59h, UX31 7:30h/2:05h (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Toshiba-Satellite-Z830-10J-Ultrabook.67236.0.html)
- Z835 5:49h, UX31 5:40h (http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/18/toshiba-portege-z835-review/)
- Z835 5:51h, UX31 5:31h (http://www.theverge.com/products/compare/3910/2496)
Also, If we are comparing to UX31 (and we are), why not mention other features UX31 is lacking: unmatched selection of ports, backlit keys, spill resistant keys. And I'm not sure whether this model also comes with a 3G module.
Funnily enough, where I'm from (Croatia), current prices for those two are very different (same specifications as reviewed models):
- UX31 cca 1400 EUR
- Z830 cca 1070 EUR
So it's really a no-brainer here... and a matt screen is a deal-breaker for me anyway. ;)
