Good: 3D and keyboard light its nice option
Bad: battary life
Comment: i love it and i owned it fro 2 days ago and am enjoy by it
Good: cool design, excellent performance, audio quality is really good for a laptop !,
Bad: battery life isnt so impressive unless on eco mode !
Comment: this is the first laptop i ever own !!!
so i will have to compare it with the desktops i used ....
and i found out that it's actually a very good desktop replacement ,
not only performance wise , but also the fact that typing with it is very comfortable and it has a gorgeous wide screen ! so over all , its awsome !!
it would be nice if the battery was a little more powerful but hey !! who cares :)
Good: -Very futur proof and powerfull machine!
Bad: -battery life is very poor despite toshibas optional eco mode...
Comment: I've had this laptop for a month now and i have thoroughly enjoyed it
Even though i wanted a powerfull computer because i do alot of CAD work for a living, i cant lie and say the whole 3D aspect didnt tempt me! I am very pleased i got sucked into the whole 3D thing! i've just completed Mafia II with this machine, and its just un-comparable to anything you have ever played, it adds so much depth to the game!
I played Mafia II with the highest resolution and everything turned to maximum excect apex physics, which was only on medium and the game ran smoothly! at some points slow down was noticable, but it was worth it for the majority of the time when there was no slow down and your driving through a very realistic city in 3D!
If your not bothered about the whole apex physics (pc exclusive feature) you can turn it off and then theres no slow down...
in summary, 3D gaming on this machine is brilliant, i was never a pc gamer, but after playing mafia II im very tempted to play the next COD on this rather than xbox...!
Needless to say this is a very capable machine! If i were to give a flaw, its that the 15"6 screen can seem a bit small during gameplay (considering ive always played games on my 26" tv). the glasses you have to wear for 3D play make you look kind of stupid! however unlike when i went to see toy story 3D, i didnt have a headache after 10 minutes and the glasses are comfy to wear! (you can read more on the nvidea website about why)
The overall style of the laptop is also very satisfying, the illuminated keyboard looks cool and so dooes the pattern speading accross the laptop! It feels like a modern everyday laptop, which is a job very well done on toshibas side, mainly because this isnt an everyday machine, it is in a very different league to the ones you see on the dell ads.
with that power though comes awful battery life, even with toshibas eco button turned on! with eco on, and running on battery, you'll be lucky to get 1h15 just watching iplayer. dont bother playing games without the battery! and i can only imagine blueray and not plugged in is not worth trying...
this laptop also has a 3D blueray rewriteable drive! this makes the laptop very futur proof, OK it might not be as powerfull as other computers, but it makes up for the fact that when 3D movies start rolling out commercially, the laptop will handle those fine! and the fact its a re-writeable drive means that you can transfer HD recordings to disc!
