Good: Screen brightness and contrast are just perfect

Bad: Excessive heat, noisy fan, motherboard and display problem

Comment: I've been using this notebook since early 2006, and it's almost 2 yrs now. From day one I received this notebook, I noticed that it has excessive heat at palm rest, where sometime it can burn my hand. Everybody used my machine nagging the same thing, the palm rest is hotter than usual notebook can have.

besides that, the fan is quite noisy. In the office (since my office) quite as in the jungle, I can hear nothing except my notebook's fan processing..what a shame.

Recently my screen suddenly didnt function. the screen distorted that I can see nothing but weird characters come out.
I cant even login to windows. Luckily when I send the machine to Toshiba service center, they confirmed that it's only motherboard problem, and my hardisk is OK. Second time, after changed to new Motherboard, my shift Key didnt function. After checked, they confirmed it's motherboard problem again. Until now i have changed 3 motherboard due to same problem... **sigh.
Last Friday, my screen flickering. When I start Windows, the screen goes up and down. Luckily this morning it back to original..
if I had a choice, I wont recommend my company buy this model. Our department bought this in a bulks, my other colleagues also having same problem.

But anyway, I like the screen display. It's wide and screen brightness and contrast are just perfect. you can see all photo displayed are very nice. It also has built in mic, infrared port, SD card reader, internal modem, DVD ROM and CD rewritetable etc.
