The 14-inch Tecra R10-112 offers solid build quality, a particularly good display and decent performance. The keyboard flexes too much, however, and battery life is average, but this laptop's worth a look if you want an attractive machine that can easily handle mainstream tasks

Toshiba Libretto U100

Toshiba's Libretto U100 is amazingly tiny. It's wee. It's petite. It's the most miniscule PC we've ever seen. But is it too small? The keyboard is so ickle it makes typing a chore, and the XVGA resolution on the 7.2-inch screen makes icons hard to see. Plus, it's very expensive -- but that doesn't stop it being full of gadgety wonder
