Toshiba Satellite A500
The 16-inch Satellite A500 caters well to those who have a limited budget but still want a machine that will let them watch movies, listen to music and play the odd game. Its screen could do with a higher resolution, but it feels bomb-proof, it's pretty speedy and it looks fairly attractive

Toshiba Satellite L550-113
Few heads will be turned by the drab design of the 17.3-inch Satellite L550-113 desktop-replacement laptop, but it's a very capable machine that represents great value for money. Its one relative weak spot is 3D gaming, but you'll be hard-pressed to find better performance at this size and price

Toshiba Portege R600
For a business-orientated laptop, the super-light 12.1-inch Portege R600 is remarkably attractive, and its performance isn't bad either. Certain rivals do have the edge in the sexiness stakes, but a comfortable keyboard, excellent wireless capabilities and fantastically light chassis mean this laptop has plenty of charm

8.1
Toshiba Tecra R10-112
The 14-inch Tecra R10-112 offers solid build quality, a particularly good display and decent performance. The keyboard flexes too much, however, and battery life is average, but this laptop's worth a look if you want an attractive machine that can easily handle mainstream tasks
Editor's rating
7.3
Toshiba Tecra M10-10I
The 14-inch Tecra M10-10I won't win any prizes for design, but it feels reassuringly solid and is a decent performer overall, with an excellent keyboard, high-quality screen and solid set of internal components. It's on the bulky side though, so you won't want to carry it around too often

7.3
Toshiba Satellite Pro S300
The attractive Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 series of desktop-replacement laptops benefits from a sturdy design and excellent keyboard. Various flavours are available for users with different demands, but all versions are weighty and have low battery life, detracting from their portability
Editor's rating
6.8
Toshiba Portege A600
The ultra-portable Toshiba Portege A600 isn't the lightest or thinnest laptop in its class, but good battery life and built-in HSDPA add to its portability credentials. It also has a built-in optical drive, which many of its rivals lack, and represents good value for money overall

Toshiba Qosmio F50-10Z
Priced at a reasonable £899, the 15-inch Qosmio F50-10Z offers a wide range of multimedia features. It also houses Toshiba's new Quad Core HD processor, a chip separate to the main CPU that aims to boost video performance. Aside from the underperforming gesture-control feature this is a solid multimedia laptop

Toshiba Satellite X200-219
Everyone wants a laptop that performs well, and with the Toshiba Satellite X200-219, you don't have to pay a premium for the privilege. With 2GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo processor, it's up there with the fastest laptops we've seen. Two 160GB hard drives give you plenty of space, too

Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-18M
If you're looking for a budget laptop that will multitask your word processing and email needs, the Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-18M is suited to these business tasks. This desktop replacement with a sleek design and attractive display will appeal to small-business buyers on a shoestring

Toshiba Satellite P200-17C
The Toshiba Satellite P200-17C is the perfect laptop if you're looking for some gaming fun. Its 2D and 3D performance is impressive, while six USB ports are scattered around the machine. The speakers are excellent and there's room for a numeric keypad to accompany the Qwerty keyboard

Toshiba Satellite Pro U300-10U
The Toshiba Satellite Pro U300-10U is the perfect laptop for the frequent traveller, but has a slightly larger screen and more beefed up specs than you'd find on most ultraportables. It also looks good, with a metallic-looking grey lid and smooth curves, and has plenty of storage space

Toshiba Portege R500-10U
The Toshiba Portege R500-10U weighs in at a shocking 779g -- as much as a mug of coffee or a loaf of bread. With its long battery life and transflexive screen, Toshiba has created an ultra-smart ultraportable for Web browsing and office productivity. On the go, it'll be floating on air

Toshiba Satellite A210-11P
The Toshiba A210-11P is a slick machine. It's got a great keyboard and comfortable trackpad, not to mention a great exterior shape. It performs well, too -- with plenty of memory and storage space, you can easily play games and watch movies. The best part? It won't cost you the Earth

Toshiba Satellite A200
The Satellite A200 is the cheese and tomato pizza of Toshiba's laptop range -- designed to please everyone. It's a desktop-replacement laptop, but it's quite portable. It has a faster-than-usual graphics card, and yet its mid-range CPU gives it the potential for decent battery life

Toshiba Qosmio G30-163
Toshiba's G30 range comes in six different guises -- three with an HD DVD drive, three without. You'd be forgiven for thinking the £2,199 G30 is crammed to the hilt with the latest components, but apart from the HD DVD-ROM drive, it's shockingly under-equipped by modern standards

Toshiba Portege M400
The follow-up to Toshiba's prior-generation Portege M200, the new Portege M400 is the first convertible tablet PC to offer Intel's Core Duo processor as an option. The system combines its new CPU with some nice convertible-tablet standards, such as a swiveling 12.1-inch display and a swappable optical drive

5.6
Toshiba Portege S100
The S100 might not get design geeks salivating, but its unobtrusiveness is part of its solidity. Gimmick-free, it's a classic thin-and-light laptop that gets the essentials absolutely spot on

Toshiba Tecra A5
There's nothing wrong with the mainstream Toshiba Tecra A5 laptop. It offers a fairly light though largely nondescript case, lots of unremarkable components, such as a Celeron M processor and a DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, average performance and battery life, and a decent price of £660

Toshiba Qosmio G20
Although the G20's size and weight makes it impractical as a truly portable laptop, this wasn't what overwhelmingly disappointed us. Instead, it's the G20's glary screen that breaks the deal here. It's a huge distraction on an otherwise very capable PVR
