Advent Roma 3000
The 15.6-inch Roma 3000 sports a particularly good keyboard, and its capable dual-core processor makes it much better suited to multi-tasking than the cheaper Roma 1000. Its battery life is disappointing and we'd prefer it to run the 64-bit version of Windows 7, but it's a solid budget laptop overall

Advent Roma 1000
The 15.6-inch Roma 1000 is one of the cheapest Windows 7 laptops that money can currently buy. Considering its low price, it's also tastefully designed, and its keyboard is particularly good. Capable of handling most productivity tasks, it's worth a look for bargain hunters

Advent Altro
The 13.3-inch Altro is an unashamed attempt to emulate the MacBook Air. Considering it's almost half the price, it doesn't do too bad a job. Offering 3GB of RAM, strong wireless capabilities and a good keyboard, it's worth a look for those after a relatively cheap thin-and-light laptop

Advent 4213
The 4213 is an admirable second stab at the netbook format by Advent. There's not a great deal of difference between the 4213 and the rest of the netbook pack, but decent storage and battery life, a 10-inch screen and integrated 3G Web access mean this netbook can more than hold its own

Advent 6441
The 6441 is commendably cheap for a laptop with a Blu-ray drive and a 17-inch screen. But, with a poor-quality keyboard and trackpad, and a relatively slow processor and graphics, it's hard to avoid the feeling that Advent compromised on quality in pursuit of a low price tag

Advent 4211
The Advent 4211 is a less-expensive, re-badged alternative to the MSI Wind. It has the same core specification, so any differences between the two are merely cosmetic. If you want to jump on the netbook bandwagon, this is a fantastic starting point

Advent 9415
A low price tag doesn't have to mean you settle for obsolete technology or outdated components on your laptop. Enter the Advent 9415. With this desktop replacement, you can get reasonable specifications and good performance for a steal of a price

Advent 9112
You'd usually pay a premium to get a thin-and-light laptop, but not with Advent's tiny 9112. This laptop doesn't cut corners when it comes to performance -- it's powerful enough to use for office and Web applications, but still small enough to carry around with you

Advent 9515
The Advent 9515 desktop replacement laptop does what it says on the tin -- and does it well. Using an AMD processor chip rather than Intel, the 9515 still has great application performance and its large hard drive and DVD writer will keep your documents safe
