Good: handles programs well
Bad: poor graphics performance
Comment: This computer is very good for the price as it is fast, sleek and will cope well with multiple programs. However for the amount it costs im sure they could have given it a slightly better graphics card and put the USB ports in a better position . But if youre not big on gaming then this is a great buy.

Good: fast
Bad: poor battery life. CD drive failure, after 3 years .
Comment: poor battery life and CD failure. after using it for 3 years i had to buy a new CD/DVD Rom to replace it. Battery life reduces with time.I t is now only 20 minutes. I will never buy Samsung again.

Good: Fast and effective
Bad: Battery life can not last as long as it says
Comment: Great computer, been with me for nearly 3 years now. Me and my sister both got ours at the same time. The charger for both our laptops are now broken, but this computer is very trustworthy and works well with most programs apart from high graphic games like Sims 2 & 3. They just don't work. Great for working and backing up files.

Good: The battery life
Bad: It overheats
Comment: I have the R60plus with the Intel Celeron 540 with 1.86GHz
a 1gb ram with dual 60gb hardrive and i must say it is okay for gaming and my school work

Good: Quite sturdy, quick, and handsome
Bad: At this price point there is very little not to like
Comment: My unit is actually an R60+ with a T5450 processor and 2GB instead of 1GB of memory. Otherwise, the CNET review is on the money, except for there being too few ports and the unit being on the heavy side. Neither is an issue for me. In particular, the unit is reasonably sized and easy to carry around. I wouldn't hesitate buying this computer at all if I had to travel daily with it.
The name on the lid signifies a premium quality product and this laptop doesn't disappoint in terms of construction, performance, or looks. Despite all the Vista horror stories, I haven't had any compatibility issues installing Windows software dating from 2000 and onward. It seems Samsung has designed the R60+ with Vista in mind.
Bottom line: For less than £500, I seriously doubt if you can find another machine with specifications this good from a well-regarded manufacturer like Samsung. Unless you are a real gamer needing more graphics performance from a discrete graphics solution, why spend more?

Good: Cheap & Brilliant Battery Life
Bad: I wish it was free :)
Comment: Got the R60+ version for £500 which has more RAM and faster processor etc.
Fiddling with the power settings can easily get you over 2hours on light use.
Bright widescreen display that is a little reflective, not no where near as bad as some others that I've seen.
Does everything that I need it to, at a price much lower that other alternatives.
I've had it for nearly a month and love it (though Vista will always remain a pain!)

Good: How it looks from the outside
Bad: How it doesn't come with the correct information
Comment: I have had my new laptop for no longer than a week. It has stressed me out BIG TIME! There is NO information on how to go wireless, and I haven't got a clue about it. I know I'm supposed to pick up other signal from other wireles' in my area, but it keeps aking me to plug in to a broad band connection! NO NO NO!!!!! I don't want to sit with my laptop at my computer, I want my laptop to find an internet connection WIRELESSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the amount of times that THING has crashed is beyond belief!
Please, if you do have this laptop, and wish to tell me how to connect to a network and use the internet wirelessly, I would love to hear from you, because otherwise I'm launching that laptop out of a window of a very tall building!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good: Decent Battery Life, Not Too Heavy and Decent Specs
Bad: Lack and Position of Ports
Comment: I have the Samsung R60 plus which has 2g of RAM and a Cor 2 Duo 1.6ghz Processor.
All in all i have been very impressed with the Laptop. I love Samsung as a brand and have never (touch wood) had any problems with anything i have bought from them. I got this laptop from Tesco for £499 after taking back my Vaio due to a CD drive failure.
It was much lighter than the vaio and also much thinner. Mine is completely black so goes with my other equipment. You can also choose from Red or White. I noticed a BIG difference from the Vaio because this had a bigger Hard Drive, more Ram and a MUCH better battery life.
I do not think it is very heavy and could easy work with it on my lap. The graphics arnt great when playing games but hey its a laptop and you cant expect much for £500. I get a better wireless signal to my router with this laptop over tha vaio as well.
This laptop had 2g of Ram but due to the graphics card shows about 1.75g Total. I have tested this with 6 programs running (Firefox, MSN Messenger, Outlook, Media Player with a film playing and also Photoshop running in the background) and even with all this, the memory only site on about 60% used. I can switch between all the programs with no lag whatsoever.
Encoding a 4gb film takes around 45 minutes whereas it took around 3 hours on my single core pc with 1g of RAM. This is NOT a gaming laptop but is perfect for pretty much antyhing else.
The ports it has are
3 USB
VGA
Headphone/Microphone
Sd Card Slot
PCMCIA Slot
Ethernet
Unfortunately that is it. There are 2 USB ports on the back in an awkward position and one on the side. The vaio had 4 spread out in decent locations, which is the only downside to this laptop.
