The S12 performs much like the HP Mini 110. Thin-and-light laptops such as the 3810T and X340 completely outperform the S12, though. And so they should: the Windows Vista-running 3810T and X340 have Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Solo ultra-low-voltage processors, which are far more powerful.
The included six-cell battery lasted for 4 hours and 37 minutes in our video-playback test. That's good for a netbook, but there are ultra-portables out there that do far better, including the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell, which produced an amazing 6 hours and 51 minutes in our test. For casual office use and Web browsing, battery life will be even better.

Conclusion
The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 feels and looks like a laptop, but, due to its Atom N270 CPU, it performs like a netbook. Although it's comfortable to use, we can't help but wish it had a more powerful processor.
