Good: Had this laptop for a few years now has managed to last out so far , brillian memory for all my family pics and documents ect
Bad: within the 1st year of having it the frame of the laptop became loose and actually snapped in half with wires hanging out ( luckily enough I had a 2 year insurance policy to get it repaired! )
Comment: Find its a pretty good laptop however not impressed it managed to snap and had to be sent off due to needing it for assignments , as stated above good memory managed to store loads of pics , documents and music files :) .

Good: Ive had this laptop for 3 years now and it's excellent. Call of duty 4 works fine after adjusting the resolution settings etc .
Bad: Vista is rubbish so I installed Windows 7.
Comment: I find this an excellent laptop and it hasn't let me down after 3 years. Cost me slightly more than the price it is now but it's been worth every penny. Can't really understand that the review said that it's not very good for gaming as it works well for me and I have little problems using the trackpad for everything.

Good: It runs great with windows 7, and i use it allot for designing and photo editing and lots of other aplications from adobe (photoshop, ilustrator, etc))
Bad: video card could be a better one :)
Comment: Im using it for 5 months now and it still runs great, i didn't have difficulties with it, i'll see if what the others said about the screen in the next 3 months and maybe i'll come back with a comment. I would recomend it to anyone who likes a big screen. Quite good for watching movies :)

Good: not much
Bad: very poor quality parts and build.
Comment: the only thing about this laptop is that it works sometimes, now the bad bits:
hinges are very poor quality so the bezel keeps breaking
the battery cells died within 6-7 months
the charger only lasted 8 months
its been at the repairers more than its been on my lap (TECH GUYS TO BE PRECISE WHO ARE A USE LESS BUNCH OF COW BOYS WHO TRY TO FOB YOU OF WITH THIER LIST OF EXCUSES)
dont buy this laptop even if its free.

Good: Large, bright screen
Bad: Bad build quality
Comment: In the beginning it was quick and easy to use but after time and more applications being added such as iTunes and WLMessenger it has slowed down and become an annoyance! The build quality is appalling... the screws holding the screen together have fallen out and have no way of going back in because of the holes being blocked by the rest of the body. My laptop is being held together by duck tape because the connector holding the screen and the body together has fallen apart at the join! I have had this laptop for around a year and have used it everyday except when it was in repair because the fan broke... this also happened on my brother's laptop of the same model. Time to time it also refuses to start (power but no display) this is annoyance due to you having to remove the battery to reboot it. The mouse has fallen to pieces and my brother's laptop is being supported by 4 pencils in each corner to stop it from overheating! I have restored my laptop to factory setting 4 times because it has become too slow and bogged down to work. I do not recommend buying this laptop! If you want this laptop I recommend buying the fully HP model which does not have the Compaq niggles and faults but will still have the outrageously shoddy build quality.

Good: Price, Screen, Keyboard, Memory, Build Quality
Bad: Windows Vista, AOL Search, Norton FUD
Comment: I never thought I would find myself buying a TV advertised, 'just for Dixons' PC, however, here I am with a bargain machine. It took me all of three hours to download and install Ubuntu, Photoshop and Aptana - I now have a perfect web development machine. Speed is not a problem under Linux and none of the hardware had driver problems, it all just works. There is nothing else on the marketplace that offers so many pixels for such little money, the 1400+ by 900 pixels is only 'bettered' on machines costing twice as much.
The keyboard is the best I have used on a notebook for a very long time. The numeric keypad does not do it for me as I am left handed, however, the shift/control keys are big and on both sides. The notionally cramped arrow keys have not been a 'problem', even if I too had my doubts at first.
Under Ubuntu the mouse-track-pad works very well, it has not jumped randomly. There is also a little button to turn it off if using an external mouse.
I did not even notice the lack of PC-Card, all of the ports are well laid out, tough and not coming out the back - either the left or right.
Regarding the sound quality, it is the best I have experienced on a laptop. It does not go tinny and horrible at volume.
Admittedly 'Vista' is a joke, but this machine, under Ubuntu linux is a joy to use, highly recommended and at a price that cannot be argued with.
