Good: Very neatly designed box and keyboard,
Bad: DVD drive burned out after 12 months and 1 day of use,
Comment: I own the Pentium 32-bit version.
The CNET reviewer has got it about right.
- Very neatly designed box and keyboard. This invites you to use the laptop ! Dell designed stuff reminds me of being at work,
- Performance ok/ good,
- graphics improved considerably after install of correct drivers.
Bad points
- DVD drive burned out after 12 months and 1 day of use,
- limited ports.
3 out of 5 would be a fair rating.

Good: Its cheap, runs well and looks good
Bad: runs quite warm
Comment: Im currently using one of these as a basis for a mobile recording studio.
If i was to be using the pre installed vista basic Im sure the performance would be nowhere near what i needed. BUT! with HP's long time support for the open source community it was a breeze to install ubuntu 11.04 on it plus the 945 graphics are capable of running nice graphics in gnome 3 and also their (admittedly low) 3d capabilities will let you run the 3d unity interface if thats what floats your boat.
Running ardour 2.8 as my recording studio and an external tapco usb interface it has been nothing but perfect getting good takes every time, never exceeding 15% of dsp even under strenuous situations.
As i said a bad point is it does run rather warm but has never thermaled

Good: lightweight, dvd drive
Bad: Poor battery life, 3d graphics are bad,
Comment: This computer has 1.75GHz Intel Celeron M 530 processor. and also 1GB of RAM which is really bad. It has 2 USB ports, modem, Ethernet, VGA and DVD Drive. It comes with Windows Vista Basic (I upgraded it to Windows 7).
This computer is for basic stuff like Microsoft Office or Internet but you can play some games on it.
