Good: Lovely screen, design, very fast.
Comment: I got a Retina MBP about a week ago and love it in comparison to my old MacBook Pro. The new flash architecture that is built into the computer means that data transfers are faster than before, as well as the boot up time being very quick too. However, the rMBP is very, very expensive, even with the educational discount that I got. However, if your an avid moviemaker or like using applications centred around graphic design, the 15 inch rMBP is a computer you should strongly consider.
Good: The speed!!! The quality of design!!!!
Bad: Some people might find it heavy but all laptops are so much more heavier than this one.
Comment: when you buy a macbook your like woh expensive true as i though this but after a week im learning new stuff and there is so many FUNDAMENTAL things it offers that a Windows laptop CANNOT offer. For example the security it provides, it is virtually impossible to get a virus unless you go get a CD with a virus ready to kill your macbook and install it. This is great! and dont forget you dont have to go buy internet security for £40-£129 every year. Convience much! and half the time the damn security dont work and after a couple of months your macbook pro wont get slow. Don't read this and think oh this guy is just diehard apple lover because thats not the case the iPhone frustrates me I might as well be anti iPhone and the Macbook Airs Look cheap I dont know why but when I touch it i'm like ewwww
and this is the oppostie of an iphone an iphone restricts you in every sort of way the macbook does not it lets u roam and explore and free will.
Good: Everything but one thing
Bad: There's no DVD/CD drive to import music to iTunes or watch movies on your macbook
Comment: I love my MacBook so much, I Really love it, and I am very pleased with it and wouldn't trade it for anything. But there's one problem for me-there's no DVD/CD drive! So I can't upload music to iTunes or watch movies! But you can get lots of games on it so yeah, I'm happy.
Comment: it not for me to pricy
Good: Incredibly thin, super fast, Retina Display is worth the price
Bad: Little space for games
Comment: I own the 2.3 GHz Version with 256GB flash storage, and games like Battlefield look amazing!(especially with the resolution of 2880x1800) There is no windows laptop that comes close to this.
Good: It's a MacBook
Comment: Seriously at a normal distance you can't tell it is a retena display.
Good: All new design, Retina display, flash storage, latest Intel i7 processor, NVIDIA graphics, newest I/O
Bad: Really expensive, third-party apps don't support Retina resolution yet
Comment: The new MacBook Pro with Retina display is an insight into the future of notebook computers. It sets the standard for what notebooks should all be like today and nothing else in the market comes close to this type of perfection and quality.
The main feature of the new MBP with Retina display is obviously the magnificent 2880x1800 Retina display. Photos and video look stunning, and text looks pin sharp. That is of course if the app you are using supports Retina resolution. If it doesn't, then you're going to have to live with blurry text and images until the app gets updated.
The design of the new MBP with Retina display is truly breath-taking. It doesn't feature a tapered design like that of the MacBook Air, but it does feature a constant 9.73 inch thickness (basically as thin as the thickest point in the MBA), and weigh just 4.46 pounds. So not only is the MBP with Retina display an extremely powerful machine, but it's also incredibly portable too (compared to the old back-breaker MBP).
With flash architecture the new MBP with Retina display boots up in seconds and is truly a joy to use. Apps launch at break-neck speeds and navigating through the desktop feels incredibly fluid and responsive.
Having the top of the range CPU and GPU, the MBP with Retina display is a really powerful machine. Apps launch rapidly, games run smoothly and movies look fantastic.
Because Apple had to cram all of that technology into such a small case, you'll have to pay a small fortune to afford even the base model of the new MacBook Pro with Retina display. It doesn't come cheap at £1799! But it is worth the price.
Comment: To follow on from previous, the lack of being able to secure your new £3000 pound computer would alarm most new customers. No one wants to go & get a coffee from the pointlessly slow machine, just to come back & find that one of your workmates nicked it.
Honestly, a small hole isn't too much to ask!?
But I love all the other features.
Good: Screen, Processors, Basically all the new features
Bad: Lack of DVD drive, no ethernet, no battery indicator (very useful), no kensington lock slot!?
Comment: Now, I know everyone's like "why are you so fussy about a DVD drive?" But I think the lack of a DVD drive makes the MacBook Pro more of a very very powerful MacBook Air, because the disc drive (And the processors) are mainly what set them apart. As for the lack of ethernet & kensington lock slot, I think that Apple went a bit too far & got the idea that if they get rid of a very useful feature, replace it with another, then charge more money to buy the adapter, then people will agree with them.
While it's a very nice machine, it's not for me.
Good: Quite everything Screen Speed FLash memories
Bad: UPload and dowload slow
Comment: Having several PC the Retina is far above anyone.
