Good: Nothing. At all. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP.
Bad: Where do I start?
Comment: I bought this laptop Boxing Day last year (2009) from PC World. Right from the first moment I turned it on, it was not working properly. It bluescreen crashed multiple times before I even loaded anything on it. Once I started loading programs on, it crashed more and more frequently. The screen would freeze, the mouse would jump, programs would not run etc. The keyboard also did not work. It misses out letters and spaces CONSTANTLY and no matter where you are typing, you end up having to re-type.
After three (YES THREE) months of reporting this and complaining, PC World finally agreed to take the laptop in to be looked at. Two weeks later I got it back, with a new Hard Drive, New Ram and supposedly a new keyboard. Why they didn't just give me a whole new laptop I will never know.
Things seemed to be improved slightly, no more bluescreen crashes and very little freezing. The keyboard was still not up to scratch though. I am now six months down the line from the re-build, and all my problems are back. I am getting bluescreen crashes, random freezes, programs running on XP settings will now not load at all, and none of the browsers will work with shockwave either (which is probably nothing to do with the laptop, but still annoying as hell). The battery life is absolutely disgustingly short. Most importantly? THE KEYBOARD DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. What is the point of owning a brand new laptop when you can't even type on it? Please note that when I complained about it, I was told it was "most likely your writing style".)
I honestly wish I had never wasted my money on this useless beast, it's so miserable to work with. I am in the process of trying to at least exchange it for something that actually works.
DO NOT BUY ADVENT COMPUTERS.

Bad: Kyboard, keybord,keybard!!
Comment: How th reviewer can describe th nkeyboard as 'rock solid' is beyond me. The keyboard is utterely miserable, and in the context of returning it 'unfit for purpose'. The amount of imes I have toretype a password because the keyboard is misfiring ids drving me insane!

Good: dual-core processor and touchpad.
Bad: extremely poor battery life and warmth.
Comment: Overall, it's ok. The pentium T3400 Dual-Core is powerful enough for day to day use. The touchpad is big and feels responsive. The buttons aren't. They are too stiff for my liking. The keyboard is hard to type fast on. It doesn't register some keystrokes.
Screen quality goes out of the window if you move it even a bit foward or back.
The operating system (windows 7 home preium 32 bit) can't take full advantage of the 4GB RAM.
The wrist rest and the underside of this laptop gets uncomfortably warm after prolonged use.
The battery life is extremely bad. th maximum i could get was 1hr 50 mins, on performance setting, this went down to about 40 mins.
If possible, avoid all laptops from Advent. All their laptops battery life is extremely poor and thye only have ok build quality.

Good: Windows 7 and the way it works.
Bad: The keyboard: it is very difficult to type at speed.
Comment: Sleek design ... shiny. Good-looking. Plenty of RAM - 4GB. An HDMI slot and built-in webcam. Only 3 USB 2 slots, so you need to invest in USB slot extenders.
I need a responsive keyboard, which this laptop doesn't have. I have already had to re-type several words because it does not register each letter. The keyboard does not compare with the Acer Travelmate 5720 which I had previously. Oh, and it doesn't have Bluetooth, which would have been useful.
On the whole, somewhat disappointing.
