Good: Fast Boot, Build Quality

Bad: Multi-gesture track pad

Comment: I previously owned a macbook air and wanted my replacement to be similar in size and specificaton, the Acer Aspire S3 ticked all those boxes, which a consierable price difference!

The acer S3 matches the specification of a macbook air in terms of processor speed, memory (with the advantage that this has a bigger hardrive). Sound quality is good and the build quality is very durable and aesthetically pleasing. Lets put the apple comparisons to one side for a moment and look at the ultrabook in comparison to it's bigger brother the Laptop and its baby brother the notebook. In a nutshell, the performance is just the same as a laptop with the added bonus of reserved memory for tht instant boot up, the only negtive is tht its too thin to support an optical drive, but lets face it the age of physical media is a thing of the past!

To put it up against the notebook, you'll be suprised how light the ultrabook is and you'll be more than happy to pop one of htese badboys in your bag for whenon the move.

Good: Slim, Light, A valiant first effort at the Ultrabook

Bad: Not cutting edge, needs to work on the asthetics

Comment: Just buy a macbook pro/air and put bootcamp on it...
