Good: large screen, resolution, spec
Bad: glitches so machine doesn't live up to spec
Comment: I bought the machine based on its huge spec - 16gb memory, 18.4in screen, 1920x display - so should be a top notch machine for development, games, movies. In practice, it has been a disappointment, constantly reminding me it's not quite working properly. Most irritating niggle is that keyboard saves space on left shift key, and has to be hit firmly and just so, so touch typing while developing becomes a chore. For some reason, games pause every few seconds - online or off hard drive - while it thinks. Hibernate is unreliable, allowing the screen to sleep leaves you often with the login screen but no login text box, so you're obliged to reboot and wait five minutes to get working again. It should have been a clear winner, but it lacks the reliability and consistency of a Vaio. Unfortunately choice at this level of spec is limited, but if I could, I'd buy a machine which didn't constantly remind me that it wasn't quite working properly.

Good: nearly everything
Bad: no USB 3.0 Hard drives run at 5200rpm would have preffered 7200rpm, they shud have put GDDR5 memory in the Graphics card
Comment: it weighs 4.6kg but its a massive laptop wot did you expect. The only Laptops that match this one are easily £2000 + (customized dell xps, Alienware) I'm waiting for mine to be delivered next week It has the i7 processor 8gb Memory 1TB hard drive 18.4"! 1080p screen Blu ray writer tv tuner the media centre remote control youre getting Directx 11 graphics from the hd 5850 Crysis will run at 25 FPS easy (smooth) at maxed settings. If you can get this for under £1100 like I did youv'e got a bargain ive been searching for the best laptop for Near £1000 this is it. it has two hard drives later ill get a SSD drive but for Now ill set up Raid 0 should speed up the laptop well enough if it can run crysis at maxed settings it can run anything so im not too worried about the graphics memory the only thing left is usb 3.0 this laptop was built when usb 3.0 was in beta testing I can understand why its not been added the thing is I cant add an express card because theres no slot The only let Down is no USB 3.0 which is catching on quickly but I guess all the devices will be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 its a shame acer didnt wait and add this technology if they did this machine would have been a beast. I gave this laptop 4.5 stars because theres no USB 3.0 But the truth is this laptop is worth every penny.

Good: screen resolution, low noise, touchpad, volume control, speed
Bad: weight (well for a 18.4 lap can't complain)
Comment: After returning HP, Dell, Toshiba, I'm happy with this great laptop, it's very robust, fast and the screen resolution is magnificent. Fan is not so noisy as the Dell and Toshiba and touchpad is easy to click, not as the HP. Speaker are great, wireless and bluetooth working fast, Blue ray can write quickly DVD and CD. i7+4GB ram are a great combo delivering a very fast machine.

Good: gaming,movies,music,
Bad: wi-fi
Comment: i bought this laptop about 3 wks ago.i wanted a laptop that does it all.i was surprised at how good the latest games played on it especially just cause 2.this game looks and plays as good as the xbox version.i tried all of the more demanding games like crisis, and ran that game on max settings and it looked and played amazing.also the blue rays look sharp, the speakers are excellent when playing movies with 5.1.the bass can be abit tinny but its not that bad.also there is no built in tv tuner in this model it is in the next model up.the screen is best viewed in low light condition, in bright light it looks more like a mirror.overall this is up there at the top for gaming etc.i was gonna go for latest alienware but for the same specs as the acer 8943g your looking at about £2500 or more + alienware only do 17" screens i .forgot to mention how good the fan and cooling system is when i was playing just cause 2, i did not even here the fans, also after about 3 hrs of gaming the laptop still remained at a low temperature
