Typical price: £540
What is it: Low-cost, colourful 15.4-inch desktop replacement
What we think: It has a good mix of features for the price, but we'd be tempted to save up for a thinner, lighter XPS

Review:
I purchased a Studio 1555 laptop at the end of June and ever since it was delivered in July I have had never-ending problems that have remained unresolved.
The facial recognition software has never worked.
The operating system freezes and crashes periodically.
The Bluetooth I paid for has never worked and I'm unable to download the driver.
The AC adapter doesn't sit properly in my laptop.
I could go on, but in brief, Dell has sent out 2 engineers who either didn't resolve the issue or were sent the wrong parts, another 4 times they have set up appointments for an engineer to come out and 2 of those they didn't bother to let me know that the engineer wasn't indeed coming so I waited for hours for them.
After 2 1/2 months of this and now my display is turning green and pink as we speak and they still are refusing to replace my laptop with a new one and insist that they will send an engineer to 'fix everything'!
I've had a Dell laptop before and if it functions well, there are really very few problems, however, if you get a defective laptop like mine, it will take years off your life!
I will never buy a Dell again and would recommend to anyone to shop around and choose any other reasonable option!!!
