Typical price: £540
What is it: Low-cost, colourful 15.4-inch desktop replacement
What we think: It has a good mix of features for the price, but we'd be tempted to save up for a thinner, lighter XPS

Review:
I've already had to get the technician out twice to fix this laptop. The clock runs slow, having had the motherboard replaced it still continues to run slow. The cd drive was broken when it arrived. The touchpad malfunctions. The fan is always on high, even with CPU use at 1 or 2%. The laptop registers a USB input if you put your hand on the wrong part of the palmrest. On top of this, the repair quality is poor and i've had to re-fit parts that the technician failed to do properly.
