Typical price: £1,329
What is it: 12.1-inch tablet PC with Intel's Core Duo processor and 80GB hard drive
What we think: It's middle-of-the-road performance and battery life may not be enough for the demanding business user. For basic tasks, however, it's a decent bargain

We like:
Integrated hot-swappable bay; built-in microphone; solid security features; generous software bundle
We don't like:
Middling mobile performance and battery life; cheap stylus
CNET UK judgement:
Though inexpensive, the Portege M400 convertible tablet's middle-of-the-road performance and battery life may not be enough for the demanding business user. For basic tasks, however, it's a decent bargain
