More HDTV on offer from Sky
Hooray -- there's going to be more high-definition stuff on Sky! Now that Warner Bros is on board, it has deals in place with all the major Hollywood studios, so we'll be getting films like V for Vendetta and Syriana, among others.
Sky has also announced its latest stats showing that 244,000 people have signed up to Sky HD over a 10-month period -- not bad when you consider that you've got to spend £300 on a box and over £40 a month to subscribe to a film package.
Other new stats include the news that two-thirds of all programmes on at peak times on Sky will be available in HD by the end of next year.
I'm still at the stage where I'm finding watching HD a novelty, to the extent that I'll watch pretty much anything just to see what it's like in hi-def, even chick flicks. Recent lowlights include Grease in HD and the singer that looks like Christopher Biggins on Eurovision, so it sounds like I'll be in heaven.
Sky Anytime is a good way to discover these high-quality shows, as an awful lot of its suggestions are HD ones. I've just been re-introduced to the wonderful Brainiac, which has been given a new lease of life by the bonkers Vic Reeves. You haven't lived until you've seen Vic using a flamethrower to torch a mannequin covered in bacon. In hi-def, of course.
Now I'm just crossing my fingers that the BBC HD trial channel stays on air after November.

Guess what guys and gals? The majority of households DO NOT HAVE SKY. I gave it up as the prices crept up and found I had to pay extra for live events and London accents predominated. There are 47 houses on my estate and just 11 have sky. (Personal Survey)
