Good: Nice design

Bad: Rubbish sound

Comment: I spent an afternoon listening to one of these and a b&w zeppelin air...the sound quality from this unit is just dire if you comapre to the Zeppelin.

Anyone thinking of buying one, listen to both side by side. In fat go in John Lewis, who stock both and judge for yourself.

Good: Blissfully simple, versatile, only speaker you will need

Bad: Pricey, but ultimately saves you buying home theatre, cables, attachments, etc

Comment: Exceptionally intelligent and simple design. We now use this for music, dab radio, tv and video sound for the entire family - iPod, iPad, Macbook, iMac, TV. Because there is no single dock station (or cables for that matter) you can amplify anything. The Libratone simply recognizes whatever device is playing and starts piping the sound, no cables, no interface to navigate, nothing. When Apple or whoever comes out with their new model, as they inevitably will, this will continue working, via transmitter or usb wireless. Amazing to me that noone has thought of something so elegant before. Sound is warm and embracing, suitable for anything but the largest apts or homes. Imaging is not superb, but portability is a huge plus. Can take this upstairs to the bedroom and watch a dvd on the laptop with full home theatre effect, listen to radio in the kitchen or iTunes library from the iMac. Find me another docking station that can do that. I had Zeppelin previously, and a stereo setup with B&W floor speakers and connecting cable prior to that. Zeppelin also a lovely design (I'm a big fan of B&W, have their headphones, too) and great sound no doubt about it. But I cant just pick that up and go, not will it pick up what's playing on the iPad or TV. A complete charm.

Comment: If I'm going to spend this much on an iPod I am probably going to read a lot of different iPod docking station reviews , and secondly, I'd most likely end up purchasing a Bose iPod Dock only because Bose is well-recognized and respected within the sound system community.
