Comment: If only the pouch will arrive at the same time I'm buying Samsung Galaxy Tab. haha
Good: Great size, Its Android, 3G, Upgradable Memory, Ease of Use, Awesome Battery life
Bad: Not all Apps run on full screen, thats it
Comment: If you use any or all the google products this device is for you as put your google universe in the palm of your hand
Good: Camera, Use it as a phone! FLASH SUPPORT!!
Bad: Screen could be better fitted to the design
Comment: Fantastic device and one that puts the Ipad to shame.
It supports flash!! So you can play those flash games online! There's millions of flash games! Other things having flash is good for is the 85% of the webs videos! Which are all in flash format! Which you cannot access on the Ipad.
What else? Many websites have menus which are built in flash and you cannot even log in unless you have flash support as the log in box is flash.
Lets see.. For all you webcam chat fans.. You can view online webcam shows! You know, the pay per minute ones with the live ladies!
Almost all webcam streaming online is done in flash, so if you want to watch webcam streams this is great.
Instead of carrying a phone and a tablet around with you which is hell if you happen to be a guy who only usually carries a wallet and a phone, you can just bring this with you, On the train I was happily playing some games and called up the girlfriend while still being able to play. I wear quite loose jeans and this fits nicely in my pocket.
For me, this is the dream phone, The Dell streak was too small for what I considered the ultimate tablet/phone combo.. But this is just perfect.
Aside from that, I love having a camera onboard and can quickly take a picture and send it to anybody I want on msn or email while i'm on the go.. The same goes for video! You can start a video call in msn messenger (the android variety) and show people what you are looking at or just turn the device so it's facing you and they can see you and speak to you.. All using either a free wifi spot or your data allowance.. No costs for video calls using skype or msn.
Yes as others have said.. the screen could do with being a higher res.. But don't let that put you off as once you have used this for a while you will realize that a higher res would man you'd have to do more zooming to be able to read things.
Battery life is great and it gives my samsung netbook with its 9 hour battery more than a run for its money.
One more thing to add as I just discovered it.. FIREFOX!!! WHOO WHOO!!
You can get firefox in the market place for free, it's still beta version but its FIREFOX! add-ons and all! which is fantastic for syncing your open tabs with your desktop.
For anybody who is slating this device, maybe it isn't for you.. Your needs are clearly more basic.. But for people who need a more advanced tablet that does what the Ipad cannot.. You can't go wrong.
Good: It's nice, pretty, right size.
Bad: NO PHONE function in USA!
Comment: Stopped in at my local service provider, liked it, fondled it, played with it, and fell in love.
Decided that my love deserved a wedding, so I took out my wallet - no fear here of making a commitment (two-year contract) marriage.
Then, I found out that NO USA service provider offers it with the phone function. Samsung delivers it post-hysterectomy to the USA market. To me that was a deal breaker.
I broke off the engagement, put my junk and my wallet back my pants and left the store feeling like I'd been dumped.
Thankfully, it was a short love affair - what a bummer.
Bad: AAC LC Codec, Screen Quality, Preparatory Connector
Comment: I have just finished converting all my movies using two of the most common formats today, H.264 AVC @ L3.1 for video and AAC LC for Audio and then muxed these into a MP4 container instead of MKV. I am totally shocked and confused that the Androids Core Media format does not support anything higher then mono/stereo. Simply put, if you have audio with more than 2 channels, as most Video now has 6 channels you will not get any audio, unless you transcode the 6 channels into 2 channels. This will result in you having to store two versions of you movies, one for this device and then your normal copy streamed at home. Be warned for anyone wanting to use this as a Multimedia device, Core Media Formats are very limiting; hxxp://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html
Second disappointment is the screen quality, for the cost of the device I would have expected a screen quality equal to or if not better than the iPhone 4 screen. The Galaxy Tab’s screen is just clear enough for text and internet, but whilst watching movies you will feel the screen is just a bit washed out, it really needs a better high res screen.
Another annoying thing is they went for a Preparatory Connector , great yet another plug you have to carry around. If you wanted to use a Preparatory connector why not put a mini usb connector as well for convenience for your end users.
Good point about the Micro SD card, you can just simply put any new card in the device and it will find you’re movies or music without having to use any special software.
Overall, I thought the device was great for Internet access, eBook reading was okay, movie watching was acceptable if you like reconverting to 2 channels instead of supporting the industry standard of 6 channels (5.1) unless you use AC3. Unfortunately I have put my cash back into my pocket and hope you fix the AAC LC audio support, otherwise I would have one of my own right now. I also love the 7†screen, even with my big hangs this was an excellent size any bigger and you would never take it out.
Those of you thinking, just get a player that supports this Codec. The device becomes very bogged down to the point of being unusable.
Good: Usability, feels right size compared to the IPad
Bad: Design flaws, No AMOLED screen
Comment: Samsung dared to take the 1st step on the tightrope by bringing out an android tablet, good thing is they havn't fallen.
Design flaws, but i guess those are to my tastes. i definately don't like that bezel around it and it doesn't do any favours when the screen is small anyways...it makes it seem even smaller. Perhaps reducing that bezel size and making the screen bigger would've helped its cause, and if it's not going to have the pin sharp retina display, AMOLED screen would've helped too
Good: like the size and the fact that IS a phone
Comment: I handled one of these for about an hour today and felt perfectly at home with the size.It is about right to use as a reader and the screen resolution seems good to my eyes ..as a travelling companion ..perfect.
I await the few months to elapse when I can get one at a reasonable price on contract as a phone
Bad: inferior screen compared to the ipad
Comment: When will Samsung get their act together on the tablet end?
Comeon Samsung, you are better than this half-baked tab =/
Good: It's bigger than my Galaxy phone
Comment: Cheapest place to buy is Currys online for £424 after discount using Currys £25 voucher from VoucherCodes.co.uk
Comment: Make up for bad reviews by people who don't even own it.
