Good: A tablet with the functionality of a netbook
Bad: Too many unknowns
Comment: Looks like a promising device. Gotta say I'm looking forward to it, just hope the pro version isnt priced out of reach.
Im a big fan of the netbook form factor and found the iPad2 to be disappointingly limited. Very little appeal to me as it felt like it was just a bigger iphone (which I already own and love). I quickly sold on my iPad2 after I found too much it couldnt do in place of my netbook. Apart from its uber cool ness factor.
The RT version is of less appeal as I still havent found the whole in my life to fit a tablet that can only run simple "apps" play media and check facebook.
Considering I recently purchased an Acer Aspire One 522 with the HD C60 chip and 1280x720 res for £218, with OS and RAM upgrade to 4GB the price was still less than £300. So thats HD video playback, Full web browser, office suite, 320GB of storage, a good keyboard, 3D games play (world of Warcraft on low settings, plus a host of chrome apps tested). oh and weighs only 1.060kg. Plus I can get 6 hours of use out of one charge (on optimum power usage). The surface pro had better be able to do all of the above and not cost 3x the price.

Good: Portability, wide capability, sophisticated OS & design
Bad: It's not out yet
Comment: This device seems almost perfect for it's target market. Obviously this can not be judged entirely yet as not all the specifications have been released nor has it been properly tested.
Based on the information so far, it looks superb. Ticks many boxes and adds a few to that.
A necessary point I need to make. I can't stand Luke Westaway's style/method of reviewing. From what I have observed, he appears highly incompetent at understanding, braking down and summarising technology. I am someone who has long standing working knowledge of the design and production industry. With my knowledge, I would wonder what if any qualification he has, and if he does have any I would seriously question it's integrity. I hate to sound like I'm bashing, but with him being in a semi influential role, he should articulate with substance and express a more educated view.
In summary, he bases far too much of his opinions on flimsy trend driven ideals and should consider taking a more independent view on the real life use of technology and what it can do for the user/community it is meant to serve. I am singling out Luke because of his consistency and because he seems to pop up a lot in tech searches, there are many more like him. It's all too easy to jump on a bandwagon, instead, find your balls and cultivate some individuality. Believe me, it will be far more rewarding.

Good: It's not an ipad, it's different
Comment: Your review is blatantly biased (for someone who hasn't touched it yet) to say it is chunky (it's thinner than the ipad, shouldnt this then be in your 'Good' column?), and heavier (the average person couldn't tell you what 25g weight feels like). This is more than a glorified, expensive entertainment device, which I think your blinkers have missed.

Good: It's not an iPad
Bad: It isn't available yet
Comment: Heavier than the iPad by what a minuscle amount? Not really a bad thing as it's more powerful than the iPad...
