Good: Ease of use, drag and drop, battery life, flash, does everything iPad users wish they could do.

Bad: Nothing

Comment: I find it to be an almost perfect device. Almost five stars and I have yet to see any device actually deserving of a five stars rating. The Prime is perfect though. Tough as nails, great glass, great OS, easy to drag and drop files and movies in any format. Hear that iPad lemmings. Any format! Drag and drop. I can't remember the last time I was able to drag and drop anything using an iPad, which I owned and have since given to the ugly niece as a present. Just kidding. I honestly don't think I can come up with anything I'd consider a CON with the Prime.

I own it

Good: Portability

Bad: Android operating system, problems with camera software, not very powerful.

Comment: This tablet is really designed for teenage girls, and is incomparable to having an actual laptop.

I would personally, (If I was looking for something portable) get a netbook instead.

Not for me

The only product I know of that actually ships with 4.0 is the Galaxy nexus prime. All the others are having teething problems so as far as OS goes 3.2 is not "outdated"

Good: Tough as nails, can fly without a case, faster than my iPad 2

Bad: Not a d**n thing

Comment: Andrew, good review, however, I wish for once a reporter would recognize the problems with IceCream Sandwich as being Android's, not Asus' problem. This is the BEST tablet I have had the chance to fool around with. Between myself and my GF, I've played around with 5 different recent offerings of tablet. Yes, the current OS could be better, but why make it seem like it's Asus' fault. Should they have delayed launch until ICS was available. Please. Have a pair and call the new Prime for what it is. A great offering by a company other than APPLE. There, I've said it. Have an opinion, and be courageous enough to stand behind it. Asus let's us use our tablets how we want to. Not how S Jobs (RIP) would like us to. C'mon. Still no FLASH? What is that about. Sorry for the rant, just sick and tired of having great products bashed for the wrong reasons. The 3 items you listed as CONS are entirely subjective.

1) The delay in shipping with ICS is not Asus' fault and should not be listed as a CON. Owners will get it as soon as it is stable.

2) Expensive, yes, but still a bargain when you consider what you get compared to the iPad 2. And which tablet let's you do more?
Still can't access Flash on your iPad, huh?

3) Software issue with camera will be resolved in a firmware update with the ICS firmware. No sense in sending out two. And the fix for the camera is rather simple. Mine is fine.

And Mr. Hoyle, I welcome your response. Cheers.

I own it

Good: Hardware, 1st quad core tablet

Bad: None of the things that CNET said

Comment: There is a better review at Anandtech:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5175/asus-transformer-prime-followup/1

why do CNET always have to find bad points with products? even if they don't have them?

Ok I get they are annoyed that it doesnt ship with Ice-cream sandwich. But if you've already made a couple of million tablets and chose the decision to ship them with 3.2 because the NEWLY released OS is having teething problems with EVERY piece of hardware on the market, then getting an over the air update to it in a month is pretty damn good.

As far as UK primes are concerned by the time they are released you can probably go home and update straight away. Its better to have an OS that works than one that hasnt been ironed out at all.

The only product I know of that actually ships with 4.0 is the Galaxy nexus prime. All the others are having teething problems so as far as OS goes 3.2 is not "outdated"

With regards to the camera issues, this was probably a pre-retail version, all of which had a few bugs in them including yeild issues so half of the GPU cores were turned off hence the benchmarks results were incorrect.

In summary, great hardware, update to the new android 4.0 in a month, this review was probably done using a pre-retail version off the product hence the problems and as always CNET making up bad points because they need at least 3 of each.

P.S. please stop doing that, you give a bad impression to the public about really great products like the Samsung Galaxy W "does't have a very good screen resolution" it has 480 x 800. Thats the same as the Galaxy S that I have and its a good resolution!

I want it
