Good: Used to work when it ran Android 3 (Honeycomb)
Bad: Completely broken after latest updates to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
Comment: Beware if you buy this tablet. It used to be a really great product until the recent update to Android 4.0. After this update, the tablet keeps crashing randomly and rebooting itself, rendering it virtually unusuable. My father also has one of these and his has the same issue, and there are widespread reports of these problems on the internet. Do a google search for 'Asus transformer ICS update problems' before you consider buying this product. Sadly both the manufacturer and the store I bought the product (Comet UK) from are denying there is a problem so even tho it is in warranty I have ended up with an expensive piece of glass and plastic.
Good: Dock, Integration with productivity apps via Google, Cheaper than an iPad
Comment: This device is the perfect fit between a full blown laptop/pc (which I use for office apps, gaming and computationally demanding calculations) and a phone (streamline mobile access to social networks, media and books).
Good: Overall the design
Bad: Some android apps not loading well, not as good as IOS5.
Comment: I think this is very good for office and student use who often use keyboard.
Good: The Additional Keyboard
Bad: The Video Quality
Comment: But Overall I Think Its Great!
Good: IPS screen, 2 camera's, 1GB RAM, honeycomb and speed
Bad: browser sometimes force closes.
Comment: This is my second tablet pc, my first was the Archos 101, which was good for the price but did not live up to my expectations of a tablet, so i got rid of it and got the Asus, which was probably one of the best choices i have made in my life!! it does more than i could ever thought a tablet would do, graphics and speed are amazing (speed thanks to its 1GB RAM) and really impressed with it, performance matches that of the ipad 2 if not a little bit faster.
The only problem is that it does not always download apps when you want it to so you need to try download them again and it usually works.
And another con is that the browser closes without warning sometimes but not enough for it to bother me.
Good: viewing angle
Comment: Had it for 2 weeks and loving it, only problem has been keeping the children off it so I can use it.
Good: Netbook/Tablet Choice, Huge Battery Life, Simple To Use & Very Productive In Daily Use
Bad: I Can't Pose With The Apple Mob !!
Comment: Having spent ages reviewing various tablets and visiting various shops to try them out, I bought the Asus Eee Pad Transformer with the optional keyboard. As someone pushing fifty so not really all that technical I've found the entire experience really rather good. Its simple to set up, Flash allows access to sites with video, an area that put Me off the iPad that and the Salesman trying to sell it to Me based on an app that shows the stars at night, I thought that a touch expensive just for that, but it's in the App Store for the Transformer.
The docking station/keyboard was the selling point for Me. I've owned it now for a couple of months, I can't recommend it more highly, it is quite simply a superb multi functional machine.
Polaris Office Suite is excellent, the Apps available are being added to daily, I've found Myself finding Apps that actually help and inform.
In short then if You are looking for a Pad then look no further . Make sure You buy with the keyboard and the average price being £429.99 (with the keyboard) makes the iPad look like a very expensive toy.
Good: Display, keyboard, battery life, alot better than an Ipad.
Comment: I had a long play with one of these in PC World and I've decided on getting it. I have to disagree with CNET's review with it says it cant handle hi def video. I tested some youtube 1080p on the store's wifi network and it played fine. One particular wildlife video I watched was a little juddery but I think that was down to the connection. I've also seen some reviews about the display not being as beautiful as perhaps the Galaxy Tab's display, but personally I think its sharp, responsive and very colourful esp with animated movies.
There's also been some moaning about its weight as its 80g (about 20 sheets of A4) more than the Ipad...dear lord if we cant lift an extra 80g in ours hands we are really too frail.
In my opinion this crushes the Ipad hands down. Unfortunately being Usus it just won't get the same exposure that the Apple gives its products.
Good: Battery, speed, games, microSD and other ports. KEYBOARD
Bad: Thicker than galaxy tab 10.1/iPad, no flash
Comment: Honeycomb updates come in quickly. The keyboard is a joy to use, esp. when using vnc to access your home pc. I like Polaris office, but I still prefer to use the virtual desktop to access MS office 2010. Over- and underclocking is dead easy due to the unlocked core.
All in all, imo it's easily the best tablet on the market, and without the keyboard undermines the prices of all the big players. Apple and Samsung: Your move!
Good: Its not an ipad, battery life is bonkers way better than the iPad
Bad: slightly heavy, keyboard isnt as good as HTC keyboards
Comment: I have an iPad (Paid for by work) but when i got the eee pad there was a clear differnce in quality and performance. The apple product is pretty naff and more suited to a novice. The eee pad is much faster, especially after the last update. Does way more and doesnt require you to pay money to iTunes just to turn the device on. When given the choice my 2 year old son prefers watching peppa pig on the eee pad, and cand hold it without pausing while watching. So that proves itis better!
The eee pad works well connecting to all my pcs at home sharing music and video including my linux pc android phone. The iPad struggles.
Basically if you dont want to look like a d*** on you way to work, dont but the iPad.
