Good: sound quality is good

Bad: like pingK says, build quality is v poor (least in my experience)

Comment: i've had 2 pairs of these. neither've lasted more than a few months

won't be buying them again

(am talking about CX 300-II's by the way)

I own it

Good: Deep bass, price, durability, comfort, easy to drive, block out external sound

Bad: You can hear the cable being touched, but you get used to it quickly

Comment: I've had these for about two years and use them everyday. I love their deep bass and comfort. The best £18 I've spent! Have also bought them for someone else. Will probably buy the CX300 II when these wear out.

Good: Bass is superb. Bass, mids and treble are seperate functions. Cheap. Noise isolation is AMAZING.

Bad: CNET reviewer didn't review them right. Sometimes noise from cable, when brushing against clothes, can be slightly irritating

Comment: My review is actually about the Sennheiser CX-300-II (which, exasperatingly, have not been reviewed here, yet *taps foot) - What HiFi gave these 5 stars - which is exactly what they deserve! It's really irratating when people boo-hoo these headphones (again the Sennheiser CX-300-II's) when they don't know anything about sound. Listen to Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter III' on these and you will hear the full range of the bass - which is incredible, at this price. I'll admit the treble could be, slightly, more dynamic - but again - the price. You should hire me for these reviews - this guy is a myopic moron.

Good: Sound quality is excellent, as is noise insulation

Bad: Build quality is absolutely atrocious

Comment: I have owned 2 pairs of Sennheiser CX 300's and, starting with the good points, I have to say that the sound quality is rich, and the bass is punchy and prominent. For sound quality alone, ditch you standard earphones for these, they're not as expensive as usually advertised on sites such as Amazon.

The noise insulation is perfect for my needs, my school bus is ear-bleedingly noisy, but these cut out about 80% of the engine noise, leaving my ears blood-free, and this also means you can listen to your music on a much quieter setting, which is healthier and more battery-friendly.
The ergonomics of the product is... average to be honest, its hard to put them in wearing even the thinnest of gloves, and slowly slide out of your ears, even on the smallest sponges.

As I said earlier, the build quality is terrible, I bought 2 pairs, each from different Amazon sellers with good ratings, as I thought the first were fakes, but no, the quality is shockingly bad. Both sets were completely knackered after 4 months, by which I mean more sound was emitted outwards, rather than into your ear. Also, the gold connection ports had to be in a specific position in order for full sound even when they were working. I'm planning on purchasing some rather expensive Sennheiser CX 500's, the model 2 above this one, and I shall be complaining explicitly if the build quality does not improve.

This is why I have given 6/10, as the sound stuff is good, but the shocking build quality has massively dragged it down. If Sennheiser can build these properly, they would be worth about 8.5!

Good: Does cut out the surrounding sound if you shove them right in your ear

Bad: Sound not that good

Comment: Need small ears to make sure they stay in. Sound not that good, normal apple headphones are just as good.

Good: Good value for the money, great sound isolation, nice crispy sound

Bad: Lack of bass!

Comment: I have just got those as an upgrade to my Koss earplugs. I have to say that the comfort and sound isolation is a significant improvement. So is the sound, much crispier and they are louder. The only flaw is lack of bass compared to the Koss. But the best thing is the value. I won them on ebay for a little over £7. The value for money doesn't get better than that.

Good: For very little cash (£20 online) I now get so much better quality sound from my iPod

Bad: Rustling noise is apparent when the cables brush clothing

Comment: A massive step up in sound quality for minimal outlay if you buy carefully online. Smooth, detailed sound and good background noise isolation without cutting you off completly from the rest of the world (can be dangerous to do so!)

At this price what are you waiting for...
