Sennheiser earphones are hugely popular around the globe, and even more importantly they're CNET UK-approved. We've gathered together the essential collection to consider, comprising three superb pairs of earphones, and one smashing pair of headphones.
The CX 300s are probably the most popular non-bundled earphones today. They can be snagged for just £30, and are to the bundled iPod earbuds what a Lamborghini is to a Fiat Panda. The difference in sound quality is enormous. These are essential entry-level upgrades.
But better still are the Sennheiser CX 500s -- our favourite earphone to recommend to the average guy on the street, and the most read about Sennheiser model on CNET, with better bass, clarity and definition than the CX 300s, across the board. If you're spending £200 on a music player, just £50 to make it sound decent shouldn't be out of the question.
For a different look and noticeably better sound quality than the CX 500s are the CX 95s -- in our opinion the best Sennheiser earphones, and for not too much more money than the CX 500s. Keen ears will appreciate the extra clarity and definition of this smashing sub-£100 earphone.
Finally, one of the best pairs of headphones in the world, and not just in our opinion: the Sennheiser HD 650s. These £250 open-backed studio reference headphones will reveal parts of your favourite songs you've never heard before, and with sound quality you couldn't match with any earphone in existence today.
