"I want to like it, but I don't"

great voice quality and screen clarity

takes forever to start up and regular lock ups when in use
Review:
I recently purchase a Navman S70 and wish I hadn't bothered. Within two weeks the unit refused to do anything apart from the 'Shop Mode' which is a demonstration display for retailers. I returned the unit to the retailer agreed that it had failed. The replacement unit takes between 15 & 20 minutes to find it's location unless I leave it switched on and in the vehicle permenantly. When it does finally decide to operate it regularly locks up and refuses to scroll the map. this is not signal loss because the voice assistant and other information continues to operate. The only way to get the map to work is to shut it down completely, wait for 5 five minutes and then wait for a further 15 minutes for it to decide where it is. Bluetooth users beware....if you intend using the bluetooth hands free feature you need to allow plenty of time before each journey because the S70 needs to go through the entire pairing ritual each time it is fired up. While the S70 is working I have no complaints whatsoever but prepare to wait around 30 minutes before each journey while it decides where it is and re-pairing with your fone and allow time to stop here and there to re-set the maps.
