"Excellent quality hard disk drive DVD recorder"
What I like:
The menu's ease of control, excellent playback features and HDMI outputs a great picture.
What I don't like:
Cannot play high-definition DVDs :-(
Review:
Excellent HDD DVD recorder, but unfortunately I was misguided into thinking it was a high-definition player, also because of the HDMI at the back, but this was not the case. It will upscale normal DVDs, but will not play high-definition DVDs :-(
So if that's what you're looking for then this is excellent, just be aware of this so no one else makes my mistake and pays a lot of money for the wrong thing.

Offers excellent value for money, especially if you buy it in time to take advantage of the LoveFilm deal

Its pictures are great and it looks good, but it has zero extra features and costs far too much
Panasonic DMP-BD65
Great little machine that does the important things very well and offers a few tasty extras
Humax HD-FOX T2
Great, if a little expensive for most people, given the small number of hi-def channels broadcast on Freeview
