We like:
Good picture quality; impressive sound when playing back movies; high-quality iPod dock
We don't like:
MP3 playback via the USB socket is pretty horrible; speakers are a pain to assemble

The Panasonic SC-PT870 is a good all-round home-cinema system. Offering excellent picture quality, its performance with movies is great. But, while sound quality via the iPod dock is impressive, it's abysmal via the USB socket. Overall, we'd suggest that, for students or people with limited space, this is a good choice. It's certainly loud enough to keep your neighbours awake at night

DVDs contain a great deal of entertainment, but many people are only getting half of it. Why not just accept that the picture is great and spend some time treating those lugholes of yours? The Panasonic SC-PT870 is a simple home-cinema system in a box, so there's nothing else to buy in order to start enjoying films with 5.1-channel digital surround sound.
