Typical price: £320
What is it: DVD/hard-drive recorder with dual-layer disc compatibility
What we think: A small hard drive size limits its use, but this offers DVD+R DL recording at only a small premium

We like:
Dual-layer DVD writing; beautiful menu and editing system; sleek looks
We don't like:
Small hard drive; no i.Link input; no separate infrared sender; lacks Freeview tuner
You might also need:
Component cable, RGB Scart, aerial
