Connectivity is good -- the unit includes an AK-P100 dock which lets you plug your iPod straight into the Denon for complete playback control -- and it puts up an excellent fight performance-wise

PURE Digital DMX-50

The DMX-50 calls on PURE's expertise both in small speaker-cabinet design, and in higher-end digital-to-analogue conversion circuitry. It integrates a CD player and a 40W RMS amplifier, looks more expensive than it is, and offers rewind and pause of DAB playback. Sound quality is good too, as far as DAB allows

Within the inherent limitations of current DAB radio broadcasts, it's equipped to deliver the fidelity of sound that audiophiles demand -- its impressive specs suggest that the weakest link should be the broadcast source, not the receiver

Denon TU-1800DAB

Denon has done its best to make DAB an acceptable addition to the hi-fi separates system, but the medium's quality just isn't up to scratch at the moment. This is the best we've ever heard DAB sound -- but it's still nowhere near as good as a CD
