What is it: Plain but effective bedside digital radio
What we think: For low-key listening while wrapped in a duvet's warmth, this is perfect

"Poor display for a bedside clock/radio."
What I like:
Neat, compact unit.
What I don't like:
The display and the sound quality.
Review:
Even on the dimmest setting, the display lights up the bedroom with a blue glow. Yet on this setting the low contrast makes the time hard to read. The time numerals are much smaller than the display too.
The sound quality isn't any better than you'd expect from a small unit, either. There is a noticeable resonance on some voices. I expected better from an £80 radio.

Philips AE5200
Great FM performance, but its DAB tuner is weak, so the AE5200 fell short of our expectations
