Typical price: £800
What is it: A high-end mini system
What we think: The Arcam solo made us question everything we'd come to believe about hi-fi mini systems. It's powerful, dynamic and detailed -- not what you'd expect from an integrated unit

"Excellent all-rounder"
What I like:
What I like: the sound, stupid! The DAB is a lovely addition too
What I don't like:
Very little - the cost I suppose, but you get what you pay for!
Review:
In a previous life, I had Arcam CD and Amp, Mission speakers. However, the move to a smaller house meant that I had to give it all up - back to mini hi-fi muck. No longer, this puts the benefits of a medium-end audiophile system on my bookshelf.
The price is still likely to put people off. It ain't cheap, esp. when you have to cough up for speakers too (I went with the accompanying Arcam Altos). However, if you are into your music, this is for you.

Philips AE5200
Great FM performance, but its DAB tuner is weak, so the AE5200 fell short of our expectations
