The D2+ is a great touchscreen MP3 player that's packed full of useful features and offers outstanding audio quality, thanks to its sound-enhancement settings. Users of its predecessor, the iAudio D2, won't notice a great deal of changes though, and the lack of AAC support is hard to justify

Cowon S9

The S9's main strengths are its sensitive touchscreen, great features and superb sound quality. Despite a disappointing lack of AAC support and an average user interface, it's Cowon's best MP3 player to date, although it's not as great a threat to the iPod touch as the company might like

Cowon iAudio F2

Cowon's iAudio F2 may look more like a mobile phone than an MP3 player but it's a great audio device -- it supports a wide range of file formats, including OGG and FLAC, and the sound quality is impressive. It's just a shame the interface isn't easier to use

The U3 features a dazzling, albeit tiny (just 30mm across), colour screen and video playback capabilities -- amazing for a player of this size. It sounds great, too. However, it's only £20 less than a 30GB video iPod and you can't use it with subscription services

Cowon has gone down the Shuffle route with this one, a fairly basic but great-sounding device that can play WMA (DRM 9) and OGG files, in addition to MP3s. It's light and good looking, but there's no FM tuner and only USB 1.1 connectivity -- music transfer is yawnsville

The uniquely designed Cowon iAudio F1, available at 1GB for around £110, is a flash-based MP3 player that will keep most race car fanatics happy with a host of features that include excellent sound quality, an FM radio/recorder, voice and line-in recording and support for OGG audio files

Cowon iAudio 5 (2GB)

Cowon was wise not to tinker with the formula for its exceptional iAudio 4 flash MP3 player. Its successor, the iAudio 5, adds USB 2.0 support and improved battery life, but otherwise offers the same set of rich features and stellar audio performance
