What is it: Hard-disk-based portable media centre and PVR
What we think: Truly excellent media player, but optional and costly plugins should be in the box

We like:
Sound quality; easy-to-use Web browser and interface; screen quality; virtual keyboard; PDF support; runs on Linux
We don't like:
Many features require additional payment; no FM radio; no slot for stylus
You might also need:
DVR docking station; headphones; various software plugins
CNET.co.uk judgement:
A terrific media player and a delight to use. The optional plugins should be included as standard, though. That aside, full video support, a fully functioning Web browser and the sharpest screen we've seen makes this an absolute killer gadget and a media hoarder's dream
Editors' Choice Winner 2007
Stood head and shoulders above its rivals. Packed with features such as full video support and a fully functioning Web browser -- plus the sharpest screen we've seen on a portable video player -- a killer gadget and a media hoarder's dream.
