So, you're determined to have the best-looking MP3 player in town. Specs and performance are way down your list, you want style and grace. You want strangers to flock helplessly to your side and beg for your attention. In short, you need an MP3 player that screams fine taste and a respectable upbringing.
Stockbrokers and lawyers can only opt for the iPod Nano. This is a sleek, jet-black affair which is power-dressed to stare down the hardest opponent. Whip one out in a boardroom and you'll have your clients entranced. Those in more playful professions, where maverick enterprise is rewarded -- doctors and policemen, for example -- are likely to pick the BenQ Joybee for its preposterous looks and comic charm. At 128MB it'll barely store a few CDs, but still, look at that livery!
Industrialists and fabric merchants should find that the jewel-like appearance of the Sony NW-E507 gives them plenty of credibility at dinner parties and on the golf course. And finally, for the small fingered person, there's the sugar-cube-sized MobiBlu. This is a ludicrously small player that will delight anyone who likes to be stared at for their novelty rather than their chic. If you need something to distract a potential love interest from the hideous plastic surgery you've dealt your face, pull this out and they'll be hypnotised.

| Review summary | Thanks to its limited capacity, the gorgeous Apple iPod nano isn't for everybody, but it sets the standard for MP3 players to come Read full review |
If you love all things tiny, consider picking up MobiBlu's cute cube, the DAH-1500i Read full review |
The NW-E507 looks fabulous and sounds just as good. Top volume falls well short of the iPod, but then you don't want to break your ears. If this almost immaculate player has a flaw, it's this: the jukebox software is poorly designed. You'll have the smartest looking MP3 player on the street, but when it comes to transferring songs, you'll be cursing the software Read full review |
The Joybee 102R is cute as a mobile audio accessory, but you can find better basic flash players Read full review |
