Samsung NV40
Although there were some problems with purple fringing and image noise, the Samsung NV40's user interface is so good that we'd still recommend it. This 10.5-megapixel snapper's price is so close to the £100 mark that it'd be a crime not to consider it at least

Samsung i8
The Samsung i8 isn't just an 8.2-megapixel digital camera -- it's also a portable multimedia player, world tour guide, text viewer, storage device and voice recorder. There are a few downsides -- including some design flaws -- but as far as all-in-ones go, this camera performs well enough

Samsung NV24HD
The Samsung NV24HD makes the best of the NV series' smart touch interface. The intuitive menu system does away with wading through menus and with two mode dials, you have plenty of control. Add in excellent image quality and you've got one enormously clever compact

Samsung i70
The multi-purpose, multimedia Samsung i70 is a stylish and capable point-and-shoot camera. It includes a video recorder, multimedia player, text viewer and voice recorder. It looks terrific, with its 76mm screen taking up the whole back, and -- crucially -- is available in a range of pretty colours

Samsung L830
Considering its low price, the Samsung L830 offers a lot of camera for experienced, budget-minded photographers. It gives snappers manual exposure modes and colour channel controls, plus a handful of scene presets and automatic shooting, so you can be as hands-on as you want

Samsung NV15
The Samsung NV15 is one well-designed camera. With its 'smart touch' user interface, its touch-sensitive buttons make using the camera wonderfully simple, intuitive and tactile. A wealth of features are included to make your photos appear vibrant and crisp -- it's an exceptional all-rounder

Samsung L77
For a simple, pocket-friendly point-and-shoot camera, try Samsung's new L77 compact. Its powerful lens stays completely inside the camera, allowing the camera to stay nice and slim while you're shooting. It handles most of the exposure controls manually so you don't have to. Talk about a hidden camera

Samsung S1050
Just like the S850, the Samsung S1050 offers several features for more experienced photographers, with exposure controls that grant a great deal of flexibility. It also includes face-tracking autofocus and a huge 76mm (3-inch) LCD. With its 10 megapixels, the S1050 is certainly a more mature option

Samsung L74 Wide
The 7-megapixel Samsung L74 Wide, as its name suggests, sports a wide-angle lens, which is great for taking photos of landscapes and groups of friends. Samsung also includes shake reduction for steady shots and includes a unique on-camera guidebook with information on world landmarks

Samsung Digimax S600
Samsung calls its S-series cameras point-and-shoots, but these slim snappers offer controls that set them apart from the mindless auto-only cameras. The Digimax S600, however, does let itself down considerably on image quality, and it might well be worth stepping up to a better-performing model, such as the Samsung Digimax L60

Samsung Digimax S800
Samsung categorises its S-series cameras as point-and-shoots, but they have so many controls they could reach beyond the majority of simple snapshot cameras. Unfortunately, unintuitive menus and poor image quality keep the 8.1-megapixel Samsung Digimax S800 from reaching its potential
