"Entirely average"
What I like:
Small stylish camera, pretty good in low light conditions manual settings
What I don't like:
Slow shots, the aperture priority didn't work at all for me
Review:
I've used to have a FinePix F40fd, my sister droped it against the ground, my screen was noisy but continued to take good picture, then my girlfriend drop it on the pavement and...let's just say may it R.I.P.
So I decided to go with the hype, I started the hunt for the 50! Seek and destroy (well..er buy). Finally I've got it and I took the 50 for the tests. Living in Britain I would be a happy photographer with all the cloduy skies, but no not with the 50 he seems to darken every image as you look for the LCD, and you start going for the Manual exposure controls, and try to get the result I want. The 50 is a stubborn bastard. Well the night shoot, for the 40 you've got the special fireworks menu for getting some control of the shutter, in the 50 you've got the shutter priority wich was nice. And the aperture priority wich for me it's useless, I'm better off taking shots with macro and full zoom even in AUTO mode. Better said it was useless, because, yes, my girlfriend drop it again, this time against the bed, the corner of the bed in this case, and the brave 50 ceased to exist, the screen got cracked the lens damage..and..well Next time I'm going to buy, not a camera, just an insurance, for my girlfriend!

Feels more expensive than it is, and its pictures are slightly better than usual for its class
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP8
Not much to look at, but it's actually a very good ultra-compact camera for snapshooters
Samsung PL60
Stylish, practical and pleasing to use. Its pictures aren't bad either, so it's a good buy at this price
