"I want to like it, but I don't"
What I like:
Image quality
What I don't like:
The interface, low light shots
Review:
I had high hopes for the Canon as a replacement for an aging Pentax Optio 5i, but it has not really delivered. Yes, the 8MB is higher quality, and there are more tools and settings to play with. But for a point a squirt camera there really isn't that much difference.
The bad points are that I found the user interface to be too complicated and the scroll wheel control a bit fiddly. This is compounded by the fact that the auto setting struggled to take lower light photos, insisting on using the flash nearly all the time.
Yes, there are good points. It's a Canon, so very well built (you can feel the quality). The video features and quality are better than I've seen (although near on impossible to import onto my Mac).
Overall, I expected more.

Feels more expensive than it is, and its pictures are slightly better than usual for its class
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP8
Not much to look at, but it's actually a very good ultra-compact camera for snapshooters
Samsung PL60
Stylish, practical and pleasing to use. Its pictures aren't bad either, so it's a good buy at this price
